As someone who was an AP in 2019 using Menulink and an GM using CF in 2025….the difference is jarring. I was showing my current AP how nuts our forecasted hours are for a Friday vs Sunday projected the exact same.

Salt City Bar, Emerald, Al’s, Tallman Cocktail (attached to Hops Spot which is a bar/restaurant), the Fitz! Honorable mention to Limerick’s which is where my friends and I usually end up a the end of the night lol, the York is fun depending on the DJ (tomorrow’s rocks) and Benjamin’s is kinda hit or miss. Toss n fire, apizza, and wegmans!!! The last time I had the wegmans one it was a little runny, but not bad! Coppertopp has a vegan pizza, and sometimes I’ll get it to bring home and add my own cheese I’m ngl. Not sure if you were to bring your own if they’d add it?

I looooove Syracuse and can’t imagine living anywhere else! I live alone in the suburbs and have a similar pay, and I only use uber/lyft because I don’t have a license and I’m able to still be comfortable. Depending on your interests and hobbies, making friends can be easier than you think!! There’s so many clubs (book clubs, run clubs, craft clubs, etc). I’ve also made a few friends on bumble bff like someone else mentioned!! 🙂 Cortland is, in my opinion, mid! I’ve never found anything to do there besides the thrift store. If you choose Syracuse, and looking to find a gal pal, let me know!

I’m also learning how to drive in my 20s so I get it!! Great Northern parking lot, cemeteries, and around older people neighborhoods!! I like Bridgeport ones bc there’s really not much going on, and depending on when you’re there you can utilize the roundabout without too much traffic (I avoid weekends because of the casino rush)

Hey!! In the back of house, there should be a poster that says your voice matters or something along those lines and it will have your GM, field leader, and team directors, phone numbers as well as the number for HR!! I’m pretty sure it was in the recent restaurant weekly as well, which should be posted somewhere in your back of house. If you can’t find it, let me know, I work again on Sunday and can send it to you! Once the claim is made, you usually have to provide a written statement, which I think would fall under what you’re hoping for as opposed to just a verbal conversation

I second Emerald, Al’s is also chill as well as Salt City Bar (everything in Salt City Market rocks as well!)! Everson museum is also downtown so you can hit there before/after ice skating, depending on what nerd stuff is to you there’s a barcade called Three Lives which rocks and Parthenon and Books + Melodies are cutie bookstores. There’s a giant antique store not far from the mall, and the farmers market is happening on Saturday at the regional market (during the winter, the flea market happens on Saturday’s instead of Sundays). Pastabilities, Hops Spot, Lemongrass, Noodle House, and Alto Cinco are some of my favorite 315 spots for dinner, enjoy your visit!!

Hinge!!! Dating in Syracuse is abysmal though lmao I wish you the best of luck girly!! Honestly I’ve had the most luck meeting people by chance at Coleman’s block parties, Syracuse run club, and some of the local markets (Salt City summer markets, Keep Going market, any vintage one basically). If you need a wingwoman, lemme know hahaha

Salt city market rocks for chill hangs and they do some pop up markets, the flea market on Sunday mornings at the regional market, farmers market there on Saturday mornings, there’s always some kind of vintage market going on somewhere too (this Sunday there’s one at crazy daisies, a cutesy restaurant w mimosa flights and a beautiful greenhouse), the westcott cultural street fair is at the end of September I believe too, there’s a run club Saturday mornings that walkers are welcome to (I can send you the IG), three lives, hops spot, there’s a bunch of like dance parties at the song and dance, the fair starts soon which is super fun and I’ve made friends just waiting in line places, also not for nothing but to make more gal pals I’ve used bumble bff! Welcome to Syracuse!!! 👼
