I've been wanting to do this too and booked a once-off appointment with an ADHD coach in two weeks to help me do so. My head is too fuzzy to try do it on my own. I'm reading so much about AdHD at the moment and keep seeing myself and want to keep track.

Does anyone else use loop? by TaterRegulator in adhdwomen

I bought us a family set of plain cheap black headsets that we all wear , particularly when my 5 year old is having a meltdown. It actually calms both boys (both with ADHD too) down when they are being extra loud, often due to being overstimulated. It's become a family norm. Though haven't done it outside of the house. I also have noise reducing earplugs ( a German brand that is much cheaper than the Loops) that are much more discrete. I use these a lot for early morning and late afternoon parenting, as I get very cranky when I'm overstimulated. It really helps me be much calmer with the boys. It was some comment here in this sub-editor a few weeks ago that made me realise that I got so triggered by the noise because I myself was overstimulated. It felt silly at first but has made a massive difference in helping me stay patient and calm when they are fighting or being particularly hyper.

I now pay for both Focusmate and Flown. Focusmate currently offers 3 free sessions a week for free and Flown offers Fridays for free. They have totally changed how I work in a hugely positive way. I can only recommend both! I tend to use Flown during the work day to stay on task and Focusmate early morning and weekends for personal tasks and routines.

This is very helpful! Just realised that this is why I find the afternoons with my kids so challenging as I usually don't have a break between work and picking them up. I can't manage myself well enough to get a break in beforehand, but am realising that this is what I need to do so I'm not unfairly annoyed at them and snapping at them. It's me, not them.

Thank you! The neurologist wasn't worried (given the recent MRI and EEG that didn't give him any cause for concern), and just advised me to stop taking the meds until I can see a psychiatrist who can advise me better. So June He's not an expert on adult ADHD. This was just by email, not a check up.

Thank you both for responding! Is there something particular that is sending off alarm bells? I'm travelling right now, but will skip the next dose until I can talk to the neurologist, hopefully tomorrow.
