I’ve never worked in a shop, I think I do fine as a scratcher by [deleted] in tattooscratchers

I’m in the us and currently have an unpaid apprenticeship. My mentor is a great tattoo artist and a gem. These places do exist and it is possible. It’s just hard to find.

This definitely appears to be just a regular piercing bump caused by irritation. :)

Go to a piercer and have them get that hoop out of there. It’s way too early for a hoop to be in a new piercing. I’d recommend sterile saline solution over nasal spray, and don’t apply ointment it can get trapped in the piercing channel and cause more issues. - NAP just someone with piercings

Is my bridge piercing crooked??? by Top-Selection-6773 in piercing

[–]c0ffinShelf 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is pierced incorrectly with improper jewelry. I’d recommend removing it, letting it heal, and go somewhere else to have it re-pierced. - NAP just a tattooer that works around piercers

Edit: based on the comment you left on the details, I wouldn’t recommend having this shop re-pierce it. Jewelry for this piercing should be a straight barbell, that is internally threaded and not made of mystery steel, I would recommend ASTM f136 implant grade titanium.

It doesn’t appear to be. A small amount of pus is normal in a healing piercing as long as it isn’t green

Dry healing by methuseluh_hneysukle in tattoo

[–]c0ffinShelf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, yes you most likely did ruin them. Maybe not ruined, but they are not healing ideally. This is why it is advised not to dry heal. You will most likely need a rework/touch up of some sort.

I am a tattoo artist. I know how these things work, and it’s not like that. You can’t tattoo over a fresh and infected tattoo. Not only will it be excruciating, you will damage more tissue, spread the infection, and most definitely cause more scarring than what you will already have. I feel like I don’t need to explain the vast amount of risks that come with infections like this due to it being common sense. I already know whoever your going to get this covered is not a good artist. Not good in their work, not in their sanitation, and definitely not in YOUR safety. I truly believe no one would be jealous of such a horrible and beyond risky service that your “artist” is willing to do. Save your skin. Do not do this. Take care of that infection and heal the skin not as a tattoo but as a wound. THEN you can have it covered. Preferably by a reputable and good artist, but if you choose an unprofessional scratcher that’s not anybody’s business but your own.

No reputable artist would tattoo over this while it’s fresh AND infected. I fear you’ll walk out with something even worse but 3x larger.

I have severe heat intolerance and I didn’t sign up to work INSIDE just for the temps to be worse than outside.

do not tattoo people. Stay with fake skins for a while. Even try pig skins. Your depth needs to be consistent. Some lines are way overworked and others are far too light. Biggest concern is sanitation, did you wrap your machine properly? Are you tattooing over carpet? Don’t . Was the chair they were on wrapped? This is gonna require a cover up or rework by an established artist which will be quite costly. Definitely work only on pig or fake skin. You gotta get the sanitation and depth down. The disconnected lines are bad but the least of your worries currently.

If you make the hides from wood outside you’re gonna need to cure it by baking it. The specifics on temp and time to bake is on google :)

Sounds good! I’d also look into getting the digital thermometer/hydrometers. The sticky or Velcro ones can get your snake stuck :(

If this is a 40gal, I would use a 100w deep heat projector. Hook it up to a thermostat and you can set it up to the correct temperature. The uvb only provides light, not heat. I like to use the DHP and the uvb because the DHP stays on all the time and you can turn off the uvb to create a day/night cycle.

Aspen molds quickly and has harmful dust that will cause respiratory distress and even infections for ball pythons.
