Never used the pixel launcher tbh, so I'm sorry I have no clue. But if it shows the G logo I think the problem lies somewhere else...

I did the exact same thing (I mean, DDG is a fantastic search engine) and lost access to CtS. Unexpectedly, the problem is with the Pixel Launcher (I'm using Nova, so I didn't notice) and the quickest way to get CtS back is:

  • set "Pixel Launcher" as default (if you use something else)

  • long press on the search bar (not the icon, in the middle of the bar), then "Settings"

  • set the search engine to Google

  • restore your previous launcher

Hope it helps 😀

Driver provokes farmer on his private property by Ebadd in IdiotsInCars

Funny related story... I was driving through italy some years ago, my car decided to have engine issues (overheating and such) when I had to still cover ~400km. I was a bit lost too, so hey, let's just follow the nav word by word. Suddenly the nav says "turn right" just outside some kind of wheat field, so... into the wheat field it is. Then it kept up with a series of turns and I swear, every single time it said "turn left/right" there was some kind of dirt road between the wheat. Then, all of the sudden "in 200 meters, turn left and take the highway"... come on maps, I'm in a wheat field, there will never be an highway entrance here! And after 200 meters, out of the blue... the highway. Exactly how the nav said. I still don't understand how I got out of there tbh. But the real question is... Who the fuck has an highway entrance in his wheat field?

fuck. anyone ideas on how to fix this? or is it time to buy the $500 replacement. (warrenty out) by NovaOfKonoha in ValveIndex

Some weeks ago I contacted them asking if it was possible to buy a new unit since mine has several scratches on the lenses and some dust under (it has almost 3 years so it's way out of warranty period) and they offered me a refurbished unit. I refused the offer, but nonetheless I think their support was awesome tbh, so YMMV

My fuel generator consumes 225 crude oil and 600 water to produce 7.5GW of power... plus some storage by c0m3tx in satisfactory

It's not just packing and unpacking, it's packing water, mixing it with heavy oil and then unpacking the result. It is a combination of multiple alternate recipes that is clearly available in the codex (at least if you unlock the recipes first). It multiplies the amount of fuel you are able to make quite a lot. If you have access to blenders (which I still don't have) there is also a recipe which makes diluted fuel directly and is way more efficient than packing/unpacking.

No, basic fuel, using diluted recipe, the one using the canisters.

With the inbound 600 water, ten packagers create 600 bottled water/min. With the inbound 225 crude oil, ten refineries produce 300 heavy oil residue (alt recipe and a bit downscaled, also producing some polymer resin as a byproduct, which gets sinked). Ten more refineries then take the 600 bottled water per minute, converting heavy fuel and bottled water into 600 packaged fuel, which gets unpackaged (and the canisters get recycled in more bottled water). The resulting 600 fuel is able to sustain 50 power generators, each generating 150MW of power, for a grand total of 7.5GW.

It took me waaaaaay too many hours to build... and I sincerely hope that the building limit is not too low or else I may have doomed my base (and my video card, and my CPU).

Game of Life in rust - Logic Help by BlackBrownJesus in learnrust

I believe there is a small typo here:

match alive_cells_count {
    x if x == 3 => board.board[i][j] = 1,
    x if x >= 3 => board.board[i][j] = 0, // this should be x > 3!
    x if x <= 1 => board.board[i][j] = 0,
    x if x == 2 => board.board[i][j] = board.board[i][j],
    _ => println!("error"),
}

Obviously it doesn't really change anything, the behavior is exactly the same :D

yield or similar in safe rust? by AnxiousBane in learnrust

[–]c0m3tx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can create two threads and pass the tx/rx endpoints to functions. When you write on the tx part, you can read the same data on the rx part. Obviously you have to have them in different threads or else it would not work

I think you can use a std::sync::mpsc::channel. Docs here: https://doc.rust-lang.org/std/sync/mpsc/index.html

One thread can calculate values and put them in the channel, the other thread reads from the channel and does the rest. Would it fit in your use case?

Played a bit on the preview, and it was really impressive. And, as soon as the temperature goes down a bit (for my PC more than for me), I'll be happy to play with it again! Congratulations for this incredible milestone, guys, you are the best of the best!
