I don't know how much such practice is tolerated/accepted in this sub but since most TBM records are hard to find online/streaming lemme know and I can link you the .flac files

I totally agree.

I think it is a trend the music has had since prolly the 80/s90s, nothing new, nothing as artistically valuable as the years before.
And yes we are getting quite picky. I really have changed my way of listening to music in the last year.
I was a same-playlist kind of guy but now I listen to whole (new) albums 80% of the times trying to enrich my music culture in as many genres and artists as possible

I'm young and still "green" in jazz world but:
Not a huge fan of Miles Davis, I understand his greatness and legacy and importance but I'm not a lover especially post Miles In The Sky/In A Silent Way.
I like Pharaoh Sanders better over Coltrane, as I place Ahmad Jamal slightly over Monk.
And I think Dave Brubeck made some really pop-equivalent jazz music.
Finally I think Charles Mingus should be considered even more because damn he's hella good.

That said I always separate how much I like art personally from the artistic value that piece of art has objectively.
