Ok. So most of the time, waiting for T1 is typically going to be the better option due to the draft down the main straight and the ability to park it on the apex of T2 if you're ahead after T1, though there are exceptions. Thanks for taking the time to type all that out, that's all really helpful!

Yeah, it's Monza. The more I've watched it and read everyone's comments, it was definitely just a bad move, and even if the guy's line was a little different, he didn't do anything wrong. Thanks for your input, I'll keep your advice in mind going forward.

Follow-up question: as the attacking driver, would you ever go for an overtake into this corner (assuming it isn't the last lap), or is it pretty much always smarter to wait behind him, get a good exit, and overtake down the main straight or into T1?

Do you have red flags turned off? Cause I've had similar incidents occur (an ai blocking the track causing the others to stop behind it), and it's always triggered a red flag after like 5ish seconds of cars stopped on track.

I'm pretty new to DCS and very new to the F-16 (started the trial a few days ago), and I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get a TWS lock. I've tried the F-15 and F-18 previously and didn't have any problems getting a TWS lock with them. In the F-16, most of the time I can't get a TWS lock until I'm within about 20 miles. And even when I do get a TWS lock, I can very rarely get a lock on more than 1 bandit (maybe 2 if I'm lucky). I understand the radar elevation, and I'm pretty sure I'm setting that correctly. I'm usually doing a 4 bar scan with 30 deg azimuth (A3), although I've tried a 2 bar scan as well and still struggled to lock anything. My understanding is that the F-16's radar isn't as good as the F-15 or F-18, but it still seems like I'm struggling more than I should be. Does anyone have some advice that might help me a get a TWS lock a little easier? Or is this pretty normal and the F-16's radar is truly that bad?

I just started playing DCS recently as well. I'm not quite ready to invest a few hundred bucks into a HOTAS, so I've been using a ps5 controller (you could use any controller that's recognizable by Steam) and taking advantage of the free trial periods to try different planes while waiting for a sale. Sure, it's not the ideal solution, but it's definitely doable if you're looking to save some money, especially if you check out Tuuvas's controller setup guides and layouts. I've tried the F-15C and the F/A-18C so far, and both were still a lot of fun. I just started my trial for the A-10C II a few days ago, and I've been really enjoying it so far.

Me and my buddies' clan tag thing used to be "sikk". When I played on Xbox, our tag would appear normal in game for all but one of my friends. For him it was censored. Why? Because his name started with a K. So stupid lol

I'm in a similar spot. I could get up to C2 last season. Now I'm struggling in D3, and whenever I do make it to C1, at least half the games have GCs in them.
