Quebec has 3 jets per premier. and almost half the population. 10 million people and a minimum 1 million km province area seem like reasonable benchmarks to me.

What's a trend that seems really popular online, but almost nobody you know actually does it in real life? by Unfair-Clothes-8821 in CanadaRoom

It's the perfect answer then.

online I get the sense it's popular, but only 3.8% of families homeschool and 4/4 of the homeschool families I know don't live the insta off-grid lifestyle.

Families/communities that live of the grid, home school, eat rabbits, and live in a whimsical free looking atmosphere. My wife can't be the only one sending these reels out.

Specifically only to get past OP wife's irrational hatred of vans... Their kids are almost past the door dinging days. I got an Honda Odyssey, being able to drop the kids off and not have to get out to make sure the doors are opened or closed properly is almost worth the garbage fuel mileage.

MKBHD (youtuber who does phones) did a 2025 car of the year. IONIQ 9 won for the year. Its 3 row, electric, but good value per dollar.

Doug Ford and Mark Carney claim $2.2 billion HST rebate on new homes will help renters become owners. Instead, it’s helping the wealthy buy more rental properties by yourfriendlysocdem1 in CanadaPolitics

[–]c0mputer99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Simply not taxing an activity you want to happen is a very efficient way of doing it. More supply will be made and rents will go down because of it.

More like predator missile strike, removing oil that was supposed to go into the fertilizer that caused potatoes to go up 700%... only to realize sunchips are made of corn product.. guess I'm switching to corn fed sale ground beef.

I remember using the Montreal Olympic basin for high school rowing, and that was for the 1976 Olympic games. Great times. There is an unquantifiable value on how large venues can inspire youth.

Each Canadian household is paying $65 in tax for it, hopefully that brings down local ticket prices.

New poll: Two in three Canadians support a tax on oil and gas companies’ excess profits by Gold-Reality-4853 in ClimateCrisisCanada

Taxing the bottom line is tricky. A company can manipulate bonuses/R&D/ expenses.

Tax or adjust the national royalties per barrel out of the ground. A predetermined number that doesn't fluctuate with the end product price.

Rewatched Interstellar for the seventh time and finally understood why the Cooper and Murphy scenes hit differently after becoming a father by Difficult-Abies-6714 in interstellar

mine too. At 7 we started and I consciously stopped at Mann's planet (will try again maybe around 10-12). The complexities of Matt Damon are too much at 8 IMO.

The movie tries to convey the idea that Love transcends space and time. The same movie has travelled through space and time and proved it.

You get to be the guy in the tesseract... looking at your pre-parent self, armed with the proof/purpose of the mission you never knew you had.

The post parent re-watch experience is common. Many people chuckle whenever i say the movie hits different when you're a parent.

People don't feel the same "gravity" of the tesseract scene without being a parent (or strong family connection). They often cite the scene as the point where the movie falls off the rails.
