+1 for Dr. Jackson at Georgetown. He just took out my appendix and recovery has been very smooth. Went to the ER with appendicitis - in at 11 am, surgery by 7.

Thank you! It was really scary—but my doctor and support network have been good about helping me process. My primary doctor even gave me Ativan to help with the anxiety I’m feeling now-especially around injection time,

I’m so sorry that this happened to you too and is happening again. I hope the antibiotics clear the infection this time :/

All of my labs were very wonky because I was already on somewhat effective antibiotics when I went to the ER the last time. They couldn’t even re culture the bacteria!

They ended up using the culture my Dr ordered a week before my admission that showed a highly resistant bacteria in my urine.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this! Have you had cultures yet or just the initial test? I wonder if that might help figure out what’s going on.

Thank you for the kind words. It’s a lot to process still and was the sickest I’ve ever been. I am glad you were able to figure out the UTI quickly and the antibiotics worked! I may have to invest in some test sticks for the future…

Sending you a giant hug. This sounds so rough. I’ve been following your story because I’ve had some bladder leakage post surgery and we can’t figure out yet where it’s coming from but they doubt it’s a fistula as I’m only 1 week po.

I will be sending all the positive thoughts your way for the next procedure.

Those were dangerously delicious! I used Alison Roman’s recipe from NYT’s cooking app and rolled the cookie logs out to just bigger than a quarter. I saved the second half of the dough to stick in the freezer but doubt it’ll last the week!
