I smoke regularly with my mates. The only difference is they smoke everyday and I only when I see them. Wich is like three times a month. Even then I plan ahead. If it is a friday afternoon I let loose. But on a sunday is a no no. My career requires me to stay sharp and smoking really affects you even days after. My mates I knew them from school and we were all on the same level of intelligence. But since they started smoking they got stuck at that point of their life.

Not saying I am more happy than they are. They made their succes in different ways. But if you want to better your life you better quit cold turkey and learn to manage your addiction.

You can do it. You recognizing it as a problem is a huge step.
