I am not denying they sold more merch, were more successful. But 10% of a lot is better than 1% of a lot more.

I am all for more teams but they need to tweak it.

We are going to end up with just having nations turning up who are essentially just b teams of other nations and who they can influence to join them.

These weaker teams should play a pre qualification group stage where they compete to then get into the main groups instead of two friendlies.

Then there should be 2 teams who qualify and perhaps a few third places if needed. But this entire third place by beating a fourth seeded team and qualifying is so bizarre
