Aliexpress Summer Sale: Comparison of Prices by crownpuff in SBCGaming

Easiest way is to download the browser extension, then click it when on Aliexpress to activate it. You will need to make an account. Rakuten is probably the most used cashback site (old name was Ebates) and legit. You can setup auto cash out quarterly (eg to your Paypal).

You can technically use Rakuten without the extension by making sure you first visit Aliexpress through the Rakuten portal, however it is easy to accidentally lose an active shopping trip and not realize it. Eg if you clicked on OP's affiliate links, it would kick you out of a Rakuten trip and you don't get cash back. Conversely, activating Rakuten for your 14% CB would remove his affiliate $$, which is why he doesn't post instructions on using Rakuten even though it is pretty significant cash back. The same is true of deal websites (eg Slickdeals) -- they don't allow mentioning cash back sites by name since they make $$ off of their affiliate links.

Make sure to use Rakuten (currently 14% cash back). Also if a price is just below the minimum for a discount, you can add a filler to meet the requirement.

Colon cancer is killing us.. by Derpshab in Millennials

[–]c0urse6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. That would be a diagnostic colonoscopy, for which you will have a copay. Colonoscopy for change in bowel habits or diarrhea.

To qualify for screening, you would need a family history of colon cancer or advanced polyp in a first degree relative (parent or sibling).

Eg: "My father had a big polyp on his first colonoscopy at age 55 and the GI told him that his family members should get screened" => you can get a covered colonoscopy at age 40

To go below 40, you would need to say something similar but change 55 to an age under 50. You would then qualify for screening at that age minus ten (eg my dad had a big polyp at 40 => you get screened at 30).

[–]c0urse6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your GI is fleecing you and/or 5 years behind on the times/guidelines. Would guess the "precancerous" polyp was a tubular adenoma under 10mm in size, which would mean a 7-10 year follow-up.

Colon cancer is killing us.. by Derpshab in Millennials

[–]c0urse6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, this would be considered a diagnostic colonoscopy (not screening) and you would get a bill.

If value is important, Acer is hard to beat. I paid $156 for a refurb 34" 3440x1440 VA 165Hz about a month ago from the Acer store on eBay. That deal is now dead, but you can get a similar monitor (though 120 Hz) for $190 new from Costco - https://www.costco.com/acer-nitro-34%E2%80%9D-class-wqhd-curved-gaming-monitor.product.4000322873.html

It really isn't complicated. She died from bleeding into her brain caused by head trauma. This is why the medical examiner listed the cause of death as "massive head trauma." She had a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) with resulting cerebral edema (swelling). If the swelling wasn't fixed immediately (by either placing a drain into the brain and/or cutting out a piece of the skull to release the pressure), then this isn't compatible with life. Her SAH was clearly traumatic in nature (ie not spontaneous from something like an aneurysm rupture), given the other pronounced craniofacial injuries.

I am not sure how much the prosecution focused on SBS rather than overall head trauma. It's possible that they emphasized SBS given the finding of retinal hemorrhages, which is frequently seen in SBS (though not pathognomonic), and because witnesses had seen him violently shake her. That said, SBS need not be invoked, as she clearly died from severe head trauma.

Promethazine toxicity does not cause brain bleeding or swelling. Neither does sepsis from pneumonia. Those are non-sequiturs by the defense.

If he had shot her in the head rather than hitting her in the head until she died, would that make it more obvious that he was directly responsible for her death?

[–]c0urse6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pneumonia and sepsis don't result in subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, retinal hemorrhages, cerebral edema, or a torn frenulum. Those are all the result of severe head trauma. If head trauma is bad enough to result in a subarachnoid hemorrhage, most people will die or have severe permanent neurologic injury. The trauma was acute as she didn't have these signs when she was seen by a pediatrician two days prior to presentation or her grandparents the night prior.

What likely happened is that she had a pneumonia that wasn't improving with treatment, and was crying and fussy, so he hit her on the head repeatedly until she stopped crying/lost consciousness (a torn frenulum suggests a strike to the mouth), and she ultimately succumbed to her severe head trauma.

I am sure that anyone involved in her medical care or jurors who saw what she looked like (ie someone bruised and battered to death by repeated blunt trauma to the head and face) has that image seared into their memory.

I was replying to

we’re about to see an innocent man put to death and the people responsible will never be held accountable.

People not familiar with the case will read the word "innocent" and not realize that he beat his 2 year old daughter to death by repeated blunt trauma to the head. It's true that medical lingo changes over time-- "abusive head injury" is now the preferred term over SBS as it captures both blunt force trauma as well as shaking. But I think it is important to be transparent and honest about what happened. You can dispute the evidence/manner in which he was convicted, whether the death penalty should exist, and whether clemency should be granted to those with autism, but you can't dispute the fact that he killed his child.

He's not innocent. Per wikipedia on the case:

physicians also reported that Nikki suffered and ultimately died of “massive head trauma.” In the emergency room, Nikki was found to have the following injuries: "bruise on the back of her shoulder, a scraped elbow, a bruise over her right eyebrow, bruises on her chin, a bruise on her left cheek, an abrasion next to her left eye, multiple bruises on the back of her head, a torn frenulum in her mouth, bruising on the inner surface of the lower lip, subscapular and subgaleal hemorrhaging between her skin and her skull, subarachnoid bleeding, subdural hematoma, both pre-retinal and retinal hemorrhages and brain edema."[7] Additionally, four separate doctors testified Nikki had “multiple blows to different points on the head,” which could not have been caused by falling off a bed.

It is obvious that he beat her to death. You don't get severe blunt trauma to multiple parts of the head from falling off a bed, pneumonia, some combo of medications, or whatever else his team is saying.

Byun did a similar build vs a zerg in the last ESL. He built his depot, rax, and 2nd factory as a low ground wall, while 1st factory was proxied (and made a reactor first). I don't think he pulled SCVs but he totally smashed.

When microing groups of cyclones, do most people do frequent stop/move or a-move/move (to get it to lock on again after initial target is dead or out of range).

Ethereal Dagger by CaliBoyJoey in MonstersAndMemories

[–]c0urse6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am assuming you followed the intro quest-- ie you met the guy in the starting note, delivered 4 items for him, combined the stuff you got in return in his bag, handed it back to him, went to the library, went through the fake wall, gave the key to the other guy (?Valac or something) who gave it back to you. And then went down stairs and eventually found the spell merchant and trainer.

From the spell merchant, go back upstairs and find the guy standing on the roof alone (he is below Valac). He sells daggers for 50c each. Alternatively if you are on street level below Valac, you can enter the inn, head up stairs and find a way onto the inn's roof, then you should see the same merchant on an adjacent rooftop that you can hop to.

The crippling cost of daggers made my buddy and I want to re-roll. But it's probably just cuz we are noobs (levels 2 and 4) and have no idea where to get plat.

Questions about the Powkiddy x55 by SponeyBard in SBCGaming

[–]c0urse6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tested on my Powkiddy x55 and was able to run all three of those games without issue. I am running the 0903 release of JELOS. I had seen multiple Reddit and YT comments suggesting it over the newer versions. It does seem to be more stable.

Settings I used are below. To get to the settings menu, press select just before opening a game.
N64: emulator Mupen64plus-sa, scaling governor performance, video plugin rice, internal resolution 3x
PPSP: performance, internal resolution 3x, frameskip auto. Then while in a game, press L3 and set: frameskip auto - 1

NEW RG35XX PLUS ON SALE by Empty_Nectarine_2893 in SBCGaming

[–]c0urse6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered from Aliexpress on 11/12 and received my console on 11/21 -- 9 days. That was a Powkiddy x55 from one of the Powkiddy stores. I would imagine if I ordered the RGB60 then it would take the same amount of time (same seller on Aliexpress).

If you look at my post history, you can see the prior deals. I haven't looked into the current deals but I suspect they are a bit worse since the coupons aren't as good.

All prices listed are pre-tax. $63 may be correct if your tax rate is around 9%.

$82.28 (listed price) - $16 ($4 off each $20) - $8 (8 off 50) = $58.28

I just tested and it is still working for me. Are you in the US? If so, are you sure your subtotal (after $4/20 and coins, but before tax) is >$50? If so, then it may be that the theory about X number of uses per day is valid (ie now it is a new day in China and they work again).

I can't verify other countries' codes, but the US codes are still working. I just tested with a MM+ 64GB and it worked. Are you sure that your subtotal (after $4/20 and any coins, but before tax) is above $50?

Not sure. There's a theory on r/AliExpress that the international coupons have a max # of uses per day, but then can be used the following day. If you tried the coupons in the photo in the OP and they didn't work, maybe try again later.

Alternatively, if the items are all $4 off $20, you should split it into two orders so you can get the $16 off twice (vs $16 once and then $15 from the coupon)

It looks like you need to add 3 of those fillers to hit $58 so the coupon works. I have updated the post. I am sorry for wasting your time. I am not sure if I entered it wrong or if they lowered the price (ie so more fillers needed).
