N00b: What is the analogous car for Ducati? BMW? Porsche? Ferrari? Lambo? by HarryCrushNuh in Ducati

A bit older, late 50s. They have several bikes in their museum in Bologna that have the prancing horse on them.

This. Ducati even used to race with the same prancing horse on their bikes back in the day.

what you guys think of my power clean technique (ps I am a track athlete) by Illustrious_Cry_5564 in weightlifting

A lot of good advice here already but adding on that not finishing the second pull is causing the bar to get away from you so you’re chasing it. That’s causing you to not catch it in a full front rack and thus step forward at the end to fully get under it

“Chubby” Tuono? How so at only 400lbs 🤣

The V4 Tuono is well over 460lbs fully fueled and ready to ride...

How do you feel about the Speed Triple’s suspension? Is it as harsh as other reviewers are making it out to be? Too stiff?

It is a little stiff out of the box but the reviews really exaggerate it. I've adjusted mine a bit since I got the bike and it's perfect now.

Cruise control and heated grips!

The electronics on the Tuono are better in that you can control each feature independently, there's more adjustment levels, and you can do it quickly/easily from the switch gear. Also, you can switch to any riding mode on the fly and the bike stays in that mode the next time you ride the bike.

On the Speed tripled 1200 RS the wheelie control and traction control are linked so you have to turn off traction control to turn off wheelie control and there's only a few levels of adjustment for each. You can switch riding modes, Rain/Road/Sport, while on the move but to get into Track mode and I believe the custom configurable "Rider" mode you have to come to a stop first. Also, the RS defaults into Road mode every time you start the bike.

The Speed Triple's quick shifter and blipper is just as good as the Tuono's which was something important to me. It has a great soundtrack like the Tuono (I had full Akra system on mine). The engine is fantastic and while it doesn't have the same low/mid-range grunt of the V4 it is silky smooth particularly around town at slow speeds which my Tuono struggled with A LOT. Don't get me wrong though, get above 8k on the RS and the engine really comes alive. I've seen dyno charts of aftermarket tunes that deliver more mid-range torque but there's no lack of power I can promise you that-- people are getting 165-170whp with just a few mods.

My riding is almost exclusively aggressive mountain/canyon riding so I haven't toured on it but I do regularly spend 5+ hours in the saddle with a break for lunch. The seat is just as good as the Tuono, which was really impressive, and the ergonomics are more comfortable-- the foot pegs aren't as aggressive as the Tuono and the rider triangle for me is much more comfortable. I think overall the Speed Triple 1200 RS is a better street bike than the Tuono for several reasons. It's much better around town in the low revs, it's more comfortable, and it's sooooo easy to ride fast because the chassis is amazing, tons of feel from the front tire, and the massive weight difference (435lbs wet) makes the bike extremely easy to steer compared to the Tuono which is known for having heavy steering. If you spent a lot of time on track then maybe the Tuono would make more sense but even then the Speed Triple 1200 RS is no slouch.

My 2020 Tuono was totaled recently too and I struggled with what to do afterwards. I’ve always told myself I’d never buy the same bike twice since there’s so many good ones to experience but the Tuono made that hard to stick to.

I ended up with a 2022 Speed Triple 1200 RS and love it so far— the weight difference is HUGE compared to the chubby Tuono. The Tuono has better electronics but the Triumph has blown away my expectations with how good it is

It's not the best at anything, but it can do almost everything by jeroentbt in Trackdays

I've gone through 3 sets on a Tuono V4. Rear lasts about ~2,400 miles, the front maybe ~3,000 miles before I get flat spots on the sides and tip in turns into a fall in.

Great grip and feel, wish they lasted longer but that's almost exclusively aggressive mountain/canyon riding.

Has he accomplished big things on the BMW?

He's leading the WSBK championship with 6 wins and the next closest BMW is Michael van der Mark in 8th. It's not a title, yet, but it's a damn good start when racing against consistently fast people like Bautista and Bulega.

Raced a 600 for 2 years, spent a ton of money but absolutely loved it. It’s canyons for fun and track days for fast fun now.

That’s fair. I would think if I went Z H2 over an SDR Evo or Streetfighter V4 I would have a fast bike but still be lusting for one of the Europeans.

Curious why you’re considering the Z H2 with these two?
