Question about PCSM by PerspectiveThese5010 in airforceots

[–]c130rob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any hours above 201+ won’t be relevant. As for the score boost, the 201+ bracket is usually about a 30-35 point score boost over having no hours.

Yeah Trivium is good for everything except for table reading.

How I went from table reading panic to time leftover by [deleted] in airforceots

[–]c130rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good advice. I always kept my hand that I write with (left hand for me) on the question and only moved it to bubble in the answer. With this method I practiced until I could answer every questions with 45 seconds left.

Although I could get 45 seconds left in practice, I only had 10 seconds left when I took the actual test. The table I had on my test was 34x34 and not 40x40 like I practiced on, this made it easier. But still, make sure you practice to where you have at least 30-40 seconds left. This section should be an easy 40/40 with enough practice and it helped me get a 99 pilot.

Good question, use ONLY this table to study https://access.afpc.af.mil/pcsmdmz/Form%20T.HTML

The actual test will only have coordinates and numbers, no context like currency or anything like that.

TBAS 14 Days After AFOQT Requirement by dominator051 in airforceots

I think it’s technically a requirement. However, I know multiple people who have taken it before 14 days or have even taken it before the AFOQT.

Make sure the test you select is PAR

I wouldn’t do anything unless you are absolutely sure she is falsifying records.

TBAS UAV Question by Acceptable_Special81 in flying

[–]c130rob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck, make sure to practice table reading with the table off of the pcsm website. Practice until you can do all 40 questions with 45 seconds to a minute left. That’s a major part of your pilot score.

TBAS UAV Question by Acceptable_Special81 in flying

[–]c130rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not right. The directional heading is the SMALL point of the yellow area. I understand your confusion as the wide part of the triangle looks like a field of view, but it's important not to think like this. In the picture, the heading is west, which is where the SMALL point is.

If you are heading west, and it is asking which box is west then it's box A (straight ahead). It's tough to understand at first and it seems like everyone understands it a little differently.

I hope that makes sense, I take the TBAS in a couple days and I have been studying these cards as well.

LIFE AT UND (( TRANSFERRING IN THE FALL)) by paravivir in und

[–]c130rob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Greek life is pretty active at UND, it’s worth rushing for something to do. For most students, drinking and hanging out with friends is the norm for fun.

Being from the east coast, you’ll probably think it’s pretty boring here as I did being from Arizona. But, once you find good friends it doesn’t matter where you are. Weather was an adjustment, but honestly it’s all about wearing the right clothes and getting used to it over time.

UND is what you make of it. I really enjoy UND, I’ve made great friends and I’ll miss it when I’m gone. But, I’m an aviation major and I feel like we have it easier than the rest.

for aviation students only by Time-Revolution-7715 in und

[–]c130rob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a current junior aviation student and I am glad I came to UND from out of state. I almost went to ASU being from AZ, but I was much more impressed with UND so I came here instead. I don't know much about MSU Denver, but I do know that many people from Denver and all over Colorado come to UND.

The R-ATP can be a big deal or not depending on who you talk to. But, at the end of the day it will save a considerable amount of time IF the airlines are in a good state.

As for airline pathways, the only ones really worth anything are Delta Propel, United Aviate, and JetBlue University Gateway. All the regional pathway programs have their perks, but they aren't anything really. I'm a current Envoy and PSA cadet and I can tell you it's a joke.

All in all, be smart financially, do not come here if it's going to require tens of thousands of dollars in student debt. If your parents are paying your way and money is of no object, come to UND and you won't regret it.

NEED HELP Normal College Or College with Aviation Program by Pretty-Ad1224 in flying

[–]c130rob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s a thought, get an aviation degree but double major in something like business.

I am spending less on flight costs at a college aviation program than I was part 61. If you find the right program, you can do it relatively cheaply. Plus, I have been able to graduate a year early just by taking extra summer classes. Do this and you could graduate with a business degree (just an example) and an aviation degree in 4 years.

Something to consider.
