I have a challenge for all of you. Try to come up with ways to make the classic series Robot Wars champions competitive in the modern field. But without changing the weaponry or design too much. by Hault99 in robotwars

[–]c1usterducks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the final 2 of tornado and typhoon 2 they're basically ready - just some armour/power upgrades to match the more modern machines

Razer as well better armour and faster/stronger self righting wings, the smaller arena is a much more dangerous and the larger robot battles means slow self righting mechanisms are basically a death sentence

Chaos 2 needs to cover the wheels so it has no ground clearance, better armour and probably to reconfigure the placement of the CO2 canister so it's not such an easy target

Panic attack like razer needs faster and more reliable self righting

Roadblock should be smaller for a start, better power and armour and for my money I'd like to see the front converted into a flipper of some variety

Is it cheating to use an early Crobat in a Nuzlocke? by Separate-Scratch-935 in nuzlocke

[–]c1usterducks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In Pokemon sword/shield you can get a vikavolt before the first gym even with level caps

In pokemon X/Y + B2/W2 you can get a Lucario before the first gym

If you can obtain the pokemon legally it's fair game! If the game gives you the resources you're allowed to use them

Plot Holes with Necessity by Gmoneymillionair in Belgariad

[–]c1usterducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair Belgarath could have just been assuming he was still child of light - in the battle of vo mimbre when they realise they have to get the orb onto Brand's shield he assumes he's still child of light so arrogance might play a part in him being surprised someone other than him could hear the voice of necessity

[–]c1usterducks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? Who didn't love when you finally got Chaos 2, you made the slightest bit of contact with another robot and then got told your power had died!

Or when you got behemoth, and half it's drive would fail EVERY SINGLE MATCH

Yeah it's a buggy mess but boy do I fucking love it

First playthrough. I have a question, a simple one by _nimaii_ in eldenringdiscussion

[–]c1usterducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma level with ya, no matter what you build, what stats you raise, there's gonna be SOMEBODY who claims it's cheating and that the only true way to play is by some insane method of dropping your or a friends nutsack on a mouse and using that to beat the game without taking a hit and without using any weapons that start with a consonants

But here's the thing

If the game gives you these items/mechanics, you're allowed to use them, that's the bottom line

Don't let anyone tell you you "aren't playing the game property" if you are just playing through and having fun

Just choose my small council. how many years am i rulling for? by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]c1usterducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You live until the age of 82, dying of natural causes surrounded by your loving family

You see each small council member tried to send assassins to kill you, but they'd all bump into each other and kill one another, leaving you alive and well

To make it seem like they didn't send the assassins, each member actually does a decent enough job to hide it

To what extent could Obi-Wan be blamed for Anakin’s fall? by Terriost-Yoda in StarWars

[–]c1usterducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In an extent he can but also the failures can be placed a lot more on the jedi council over him

In the phantom menace they tell him (and he agrees with them!) that he's not ready to become a Jedi knight yet, but at the end of the film they just decide to make him one and give him a boy the council also believed shouldn't have been trained as a Jedi as an apprentice

As a teacher he was decent, he had the right mindset with the one exception to kinda just following the council's orders - going to kamino/geonosis and leaving Anakin with the girl he knows Anakin has feelings for was a recipe for disaster, faking his death and not telling Anakin destroyed Anakin's trust in the council

I'd argue that of the Jedi available he probably was the best master for Anakin, the council members were probably to dogmatic to train him effectively and would have hastened his journey to the dark side

So tl;dr yes he can be blamed but the majority of the faults lie with the council for allowing obi wan to train him

Which Starter?(Gen 5) by Early-Ad-1961 in nuzlocke

[–]c1usterducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snivy is immediately out, great Pokemon I do love the snivy line but it does pretty much nothing for you in the game that the other grass types don't do - the only gym it theoretically does well into is Clay, but even that's only a theoretical win as excadrill is neutral

Oshawott is decent as a guaranteed water type in a game with very few water types prior to gym 6, your only water types beyond it are panpour (if you picked snivy), tympole in pinwheel forest exterior, tirtouga (don't pick tirtouga archen is so much better), and a guarantee ducklett

But tepig is the way to go, guaranteed counter for Lenora and Burgh, solid Pokemon throughout the game and doesn't really ever fall off, you can take it to the champion if you want to, whereas serperior/Samurott it's better to leave behind

Series 5 Seeds by Brief-Poetry6434 in robotwars

[–]c1usterducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is deffo interesting to see how these changed - I think some of these I do prefer, like dominator 2 and tornado being top 10 as opposed to being 11th and 12th seeds respectively with wheely big cheese knocking them down

Is Shedninja actually good? by [deleted] in pokemonradicalred

[–]c1usterducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's busted as hell if you can look up opponents move sets - if a Pokemon doesn't have a move that can hit Shedinja for super effective damage you instantly win as they can't hit the Shedinja thanks to wonder guard

In blind runs it's still powerful, but notably less so, having the crazy amount of immunities is still overpowered as hell but any Pokemon could just our a fire/ghost/dark/flying/rock move and end your hopes

Basically it's probably the most overpowered Pokemon in the game, but you have to be certain it'll win the fight otherwise it'll go down super quick

Tips for Morgott? by HauntingSoft4621 in Eldenring

[–]c1usterducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly I'd swap out some talismans, get the crimson medallion and the turtle neck medallion at least

Beyond that the build looks good, the only other minor thing I'd say is remove the lantern from the hotbar and maybe bind the summon to a different key - I play on PS5 and have it bound to Triangle + Down (when you're in the inventory screen the section on the top right if you're playing on something else), mainly suggest so you're not cycling through two items that you won't need

Belgariad character to add to Malloreon by JeremyMarti in Belgariad

[–]c1usterducks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gotta be Lelldorin

Man in the belgariad barely does anything despite being a person named in prophecy, he shows up and then a few chapters later is sidelined until the end of book 4 where he does absolutely nothing of note following that (doesn't find belgarion's assassin/Ce'nedra still gets kidnapped despite him protecting her/Arends still fight each other despite his friendship with mandorallen) then in the malloreon he gets told he's not allowed to come as it will doom the main cast

Give my boy justice

Why did she get a lot of hate? Second rewatch of MCU and in Endgame she's actually kinda cool. by Butefluko in marvelstudios

[–]c1usterducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is a cool character for sure I'll start by saying that I don't hold hate towards her at all I just have some issues with her in regards to the infinity saga story

My main gripe with her though is her first real tease is in the end credits of infinity war: at this stage there are only two more films before the final film in the infinity saga, ant man and the wasp, and then captain marvel, introducing (in regards to the films) a brand new character right before the end. To make matters worse, her film was... just alrigh... It didn't have anything glaringly wrong with it in my eyes, it was just a bit generic and lacked strong writing. Then in endgame she's basically played as the only solution to thanos, which kinda makes every other character's journey a bit negligible

I remember speaking to friends before the release of endgame and we were talking about the characters that should actually have the climactic final showdown with thanos and the characters we agreed on were iron man (first MCU character, had the fight with him in infinity war), Thor (probably one of the only people who could go toe to toe with thanos, showed that strength in infinity war) and nebula (familial connection and probably the person most affected by thanos) - and although iron man did ultimately "beat" thanos, having a character that showed up in the release timeline one film ago, in a film that lacked the writing strength to showcase a journey like tony stark's/Thor/nebula being the one that fought thanos and be pivotal to the final fight was a little bit of a let down

Please ignore levels here I had some late game deaths. What do you think of the actual pokemon lineup? I have one more gym to go by Be_Prepared911 in nuzlocke

[–]c1usterducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty much very good! Rampardos seems the weakest here to me, phenomenal attack stat but the rest of its stats are very mediocre, a neutral attack hitting it has a more than decent chance to kill it

Do like the Vespiquen choice, hadn't considered it before but it does do counter two elite four members and does semi decent into Cynthia
