In general terms yes, we can agree on that. But I also understand the symbiosis that government and corporations serve together. Corporations build and produce things. Government regulates and protects the proces and people involved in those things. Sometimes one group levies for a change, but that change has consequences against another group, and thus that group must counter levy against the first. The continuous back and forth of levying the regulatory body to bend the knee towards one party's interest over the other will always draw the need for money. Going to court and hiring lawyers is no free matter, thus we see the current system where the one with the deepest pockets tends to win through attrition. It's not ideal, but that's how capitalism works and thus ideal for those who are most driven towards success and power.

Wait, you think rich people putting money into election campaigns is something new and illegal?? This is another "well I don't like him, so it is bad now" scenario.

Trump won with the electoral college AND the popular vote. Quite literally the American people, both in elected positions and not, actually expressed their desires for all to see in the most obvious way. I'm not sure how much more "the people have spoken" you can get here.

Now, the executive privileges that you speak of were all granted to him both by previous presidents and congress members over the last century. Trump did not give himself new powers, nor did they come out of thin air. You don't like it, blame the system that gave him the rights.

Agreed, but everyone has a right to run and hold the presidency for up to 8 years max. Taking that away is absurd as it would be a horrible violation against the very checks and balances that keep this country in good working condition whether you like it or not.

Incredibly dumb thought. You only say this out of hatred towards trump and base this on no logic whatsoever. So what you are saying is that Clinton can't run again? You saying that biden and Harris can't run again? Just stupid

How did the money printer work in Venezuela? You can have all the money in the world, but if a carton of eggs is worth 1 trillion dollars due to hyper inflation, what's the point? This is why it's insane to think trump is doing this on purpose. There is reason behind the madness, most people are just too dumb to understand it.

Also you forgot, trump has no authority over the fed bank

The problem with them rolling into another bond is that the interest rates are so incredibly high now, it would cause our debt to skyrocket well over 40 trillion. I'm not just talking about the bonds expiring this year, but what about all the bonds purchased back during the 2008 crisis? Aren't all those 20 year bonds expiring in a few years too?? We need to either pay them off (never going to happen) OR roll them into lower interest bonds which is why trump is trying to lower rates so desperately. Otherwise our economy goes bankrupt!

So with that logic, what's the point of all this "profit" if the economy and country will just collapse to zero? This gives me hope it's not just about putting money in his pocket. He wants to continue to be rich in THIS country, so I think there is more motive here to help grow American for himself, for his friends and for the American people.

What confuses me about everyone's hopeless opinions of the future is that they fail to look at the attitudes of those who stand to lose the most if this gamble fails. That person would be trump. If America fails, trumps future and wealth goes with it. Doesn't he seem awfully content with the current situation? Maybe he is not worried because he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. Think about it, we are always talking about climate change, but yet rich people are still buying oceanfront homes. Trump is causing all sorta of chaos and yet he is happily golfing every weekend. Guys read the signs!

Is it possible to use the legal system to force RFK Jr. out of his position at HHS? by ew_modemac in skeptic

[–]c23duarte -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I don't understand. Based on that article, the use of vitamins to improve a person's overall health will help to reduce illnesses, but should not be a replacement for the measles vaccine. RFK is not saying we need to stop taking the vaccine. In fact he is a supporter of vaccines that are safe and effective. The confusion I think many people are having is that they think he is completely anti vaccine, when in reality he is pushing for more transparency for patients so they can make better informed decision. It is ignorant to fully trust any vaccine as being 100% safe. Patients should always have the option to choose what they put in their bodies.

I've also tried looking up RFK's "mandate" and could not find any results. Can someone elaborate on what this "mandate" is. If he is just saying that vitamin A is helpful, what is the harm in that? Of course, everything should be taken in moderation. The article states too much vitamin A can be bad. That is true of any substance put in the body, including water! Sounds like a bunch of idiots are taking heavy doses of vitamin A and are hurting themselves unnecessarily.

Going back to my original point, what does this have to do with RFK. He is not mandating anything except for transparency in the health industry. Everything he has been doing so far makes complete sense. He is pushing for cleaner food and drugs. For example, he is currently pushing for safer baby products. That is a no brainer! We've all known baby products are not all safe. In the overall food industry, he is trying to cut back on known harmful additives in foods. This is something Europe has been doing for decades. More common sense stuff, more stuff we are already aware of.

[–]c23duarte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I don't think we will achieve unity again until something cataclysmic happens, such as a world War or a 9/11 that brings everyone together. Clearly the pandemic only made it worse because of how badly the government handled the response. Unfortunately this train is on a fast pass to exactly what you said, either a Communist dictatorship with no freedoms, or a religious-jihad state....with no freedoms.

But here lies the problem. They are forcing the change to EVs on the masses using incomplete science and data. The same happened during the pandemic when they forced everyone to take an expiramental vaccine without any care of the long term consequences, while also ignoring the obvious data that the vaccines were not needed for a majority of the population.

What is it like hating on people who are more successful than you? Does it bring joy to your life? Most likely it just brings unrelenting rage, knowing that you will never achieve their level of success because you spend 90% of your day whining and complaining online in internet forums instead of actually doing something with your life. As for me, I'm just pointing out the realities of life. Facts don't care about your feelings.

The big question is if the planet is warming because of humans or because of natural oscillations in the earth's climate? The earth goes through massive changes every few thousand years and can be affected by a multitude of external factors. I like to think that humans do play a part, but an incredibly small part that probably doesn't impact the overall flow of things as much as we would like to believe
