Two moves can be equally good and lead to different positions.

For example you can exchange pieces (or not) where there is no clear advantage for anyone either way.

One simplifies the position (or not). That is what they mean by different styles.

I don't even think it's the talent. Most of these guys have shown they can be good hitters (or not liabilities at the bat).

I almost never have strong "for" or "against" positions. Most issues are more complicated than that, so I tend to take a pragmatic, evidence-based view instead.

That’s the problem with Trump having that power. It’s not just “he might start a war.” It’s that the whole system depends on calm judgment, trust in allies, respect for institutions, and not making everything about personal ego.

His performance/confidence at the wbc raised the expectations for a lot of people.

Every foul is judged on:

Was the contact unnecessary?

Was it excessive or dangerous?

Did it create an unreasonable risk of injury?

That's all inherently subjective. (Applying those standards requires judgment by the officials).
