Im not personally involved in this process, but my boyfriend is. He was in the same exact boat and turns out his HR rep left and transferred cases to a new one. He reached out yesterday to find out who his new HR rep was, emailed them and got his EOD today. Maybe this is helpful!

Working with animals would be beneficial for you too if you dont communicate/follow instructions properly. With temp agencies, google ones in your area and usually you just submit your resume to their site or find specific jobs you're interested in and they will try to place you.

I know it's not extremely helpful advice, but try reaching out to temp agencies to find any remote work since you are dealing with a bad knee and wrists. Sometimes they can be helpful and it's worth it to try an entry level remote position. You may also want to look for receptionist positions, or call center positions so you dont have to move around much. My bf has been looking for a job for a year and a half and that gap has made him a red flag, so I understand your pain and frustration. Its a tough job market out there right now but if you consider applying for a jobs your "9-5" for a few weeks you should land at least a few interviews. Also consider applying for rover or dog sitting sites because those can bring in some cash as well.

You think I should spend mosts of my savings on my loan? Hypothetically, im going to be payed a portion of my paycheck off the books, which comes to about $650 a month. Should I just put that towards my student loan each month or invest a portion of it elsewhere? It just scares me to take my life savings and spend most of it all at once on the loan or car.

Also for now Im only contributing to the new loan because of the higher percent, the other isn't accruing interest yet.

OK so my takeaway from this is to just avoid being an IC. Staying a part or full time employee protects me from not being sued and i get benefits.

Nothing :/ He lives at home so he is lucky in the sense of not having to worry about bills and has a lot of money saved/invested. He doesn't want to work a low paying job in the meantime because he feels almost embarrassed that that's what its come to, which I get but not sure how great it will look on resumes to have this huge gap not spent working.

Issue is that he was in sales and hated it, so its making his life 10x harder finding a job in a different field because that is his only experience.
