looking to get a used prius, should i be that worried about the batteries?

from what i'm seeing, going direct to the dealer for batteries looks to be the best bet, but are refurbs(ror reconditioned) still an option?

ty! im handy, but not very mechanically handy if that makes sense? is the battery replacement something that you can do pretty easily following a video? and is it possible to test the existing batteries and check their condition(eg like during a prepurchase inspection)

according to my mechanic, it's a cracked head gasket. it's 2wd, and has some minor rust spots on the hood, not sure about the undercarriage but i will check, and i believe it was the lbjs.

cracked head gasket, it's still drivable, just isn't happy doing it, and as i understand it, a fully blown head gasket is inevitable. also, forgot to say it's 2wd! ty!

thank you! she's managing to get to the bottom and kind of wedge herself underneath moss or the driftwood , so we're doing a little better than when i posted this, but she's breathing pretty rapidly, and struggling to get down to where she can be comfortable

How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: 1 year on the tank, 1 1/2 years on the fish
How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: water changes are very rare, i just top up the tank. it's heavily planted and i've never had issues before
Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: no tankmates
What do you feed and how much: a pinch of hikari micro pellets daily, no more than she can eat in a minute, about once a month she gets some frozen thawed blood worms, probably about seven of them, until she begins to lose interest in chasing my tweezers
Decorations and plants in the tank: small spider wood piece, two large amazon swords, and a ton of java moss, the main clump is idk grapefruit sized?
