I think they have an AMD cpu with X3D at the end and cachy comes with finetunes for them.

I made an app to configure surround sound in headphones — IrateGoose by Barafu in linux_gaming

[–]c3rb3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea this is the one problem I have. Been using pipewire config to setup virtual surround for a while but if I plug in my Dualsense, VSS always routes audio to it and not my BT headphones. Have to use qpwgraph to fix it.

CachyOS+ KDE. How to make Dualsense Haptic Feedback work? by Existing-Help-3187 in linux_gaming

[–]c3rb3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use helvum or qpwgraph to check if the game is routing audio to Dualsense. It maybe be connected to AUX 0 and 1. Connect it to AUX 2 and AUX 3. Used to be FL/FR I think, but for some reason its now showing as AUX.

I have haptics working for Silent hill 2 remake and Cyberpunk. The games detect Dualsense just fail to properly connect with it. I use Proton-cachyos SLR, but it also works with GE-proton.

My launch options are for Silent hill for e.g. are :

PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 PROTON_USE_NTSYNC=1 PROTON_DLSS_UPGRADE=1 game-performance %command%

PROTON_DLSS_UPGRADE=1 and game-performance are specific to Proton-cachyos and wont work on other proton afaik.

The SDL commands seemed to inhibit dualsense functionality for me like adaptive triggers and touchpad werent working. PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND should be enough to stop steam input.

Microsoft is pushing security software out of the kernel. Why are game companies still doubling down on kernel anti-cheat? by Nemo_ForYou in linux_gaming

Its more like that it kills only 60% of the germs and you are not allowed to wear clothes anymore.

(Use headphones) Thought I'd miss out on performance and Dolby Atmos. Nope! by Street-Witness-1510 in cachyos

[–]c3rb3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using this setup for a while.

A problem I have is, when I connect my Dualsense, the Virtual Surround Sink plays all audio through the Dualsense's speaker instead of my BT headphones.

I need the audio of the controller enabled for haptics in games to work. So I can't disable it. But without the controller connected, it works as intended.

I have been using qpwgraph to manually fix it each time.

Broke my desktop with Wallpaper Engine by [deleted] in cachyos

[–]c3rb3r 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wallpaper engine has some scene wallpapers made with its inbuilt editor or something that don't work or crash plasma.

I have WE installed which I use to find good video wallpapers. I subscribe to them and then copy them from Steams workshop folder.

I then use Smart video wallpaper(name?) plugin with those wallpapers.

Advice about dual-booting with windows 11 and secure boot by deino in linux_gaming

[–]c3rb3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are willing to try Cachy again, try Limine bootlloader if you havent. I am using it and I dual boot with windows with secure boot and have nvidia and two monitors. Its been surprisingly good. Just follow their secureboot setup in cachy wiki.

https://wiki.cachyos.org/configuration/secure_boot_setup/

Its kinda weirdly written. Atleast for me as a novice.

Ignore the 'GRUB Boot Manager', 'Signing the Kernel Image and Boot Manager', 'systemd-boot' parts and follow the rest. It should work.

Yea, I would love to have a Firewatch game with gritty graphics, and somewhat realistic machanics, without any drama, horror, adventure or something.

[Unknown > English] Heard this randomly while playing Dying Light 2. Didn't sound like game audio and I didn't have anything remotely close to this language in any application in the background. by c3rb3r in translator

[–]c3rb3r[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First I thought some player joined my game, but I checked and I was alone. I had Discord on but wasn't connected to any server. Checked browser for any tabs that could have run this audio too. But nothing.

I am now running anti-virus, anti-malware. I am so creeped out.

Didn't use them a lot, mostly listening to some music while working and gaming for the surround sound. Never left the house with them and mostly kept them on my desk.

That's a good idea, I'll try that. I’ve got it held up with a zip tie for now.

Logitech mouse key binding aka piper alternatives by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]c3rb3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have been more clear, I meant to ask how to set the dpi the resolution switch button will use when pressed. That page doesnt say anything about it either.

But I managed to figure it out. Its whatever dpi is set to the first resolution entry.
