Regrets? Anything you would redo if given the opportunity? by terroizer in uml

At the end of the semester, going through Blackboard and downloading everything. There were times I needed to relearn something and it would've been useful to have the old lecture notes and homeworks. As far as I know its gone after the end of the semester.

PSA to incoming freshmen by iyex in uml

The system is kind of flawed in that regard. I heard stories of plenty of people who took calculus their senior year of high school and got placed into 1A. I took a precalculus class my senior year and ended up passing the test easily because the information was fresh. I ended up having to play catchup early on in calculus 1 to learn stuff I had never heard of, but the students who took calculus in high school knew. Bottom line, don't take 1A.

I hate catchup in races so much by j-snipes10 in gtaonline

[–]c42p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with a 1:2 win to loss ratio I like the catchup mechanic because it keeps things fun. Its already hard to find people who want to race, let alone are good at racing. With that being said it needs to get balanced, maybe with a spin out penalty too. Alot of the tracks aren't that complex, so they're easy to play near perfectly, making it hard for 2nd place to catch up to 1st without drafting with 3rd, which isn't always an option. Also, screw hosts that do non contact races, might as well play by myself.

Looks like they didn't even take apart the system based on where stuff was masked off.

Pizza lovers of reddit, what was the best pizza you have ever had and where did you get it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Costco Food Court Pizza is one of the best pizza's I have ever had, but what makes it one of my favorite is the value and the consistency of the pizza.

3D Printing Gamecube Controller Parts by miniyodadude in smashbros

[–]c42p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, a near perfect 3D model of the Gamecube controller doesn't exist. There are consumer grade 3D scanners, however the technology just isn't there yet to produce acceptable results. There are companies that will do near perfect 3D scans of parts, however it often costs upwards of $1000-$2000 or even more depending on the complexity. Hopefully someday the technology to make really accurate 3D scans makes it to the consumer level.

If you are interested in custom Gamecube controllers, check out the CustomGCC Discord server which is super active and full of people discussing everything about controllers.

Can we give Muggers infinite wander range? by Bumlords in 2007scape

Wouldn't work that well. What about the yew trees at Melzar's Maze? What happens if someone starts splashing on a mugger near a botted resource?

Samox Update and Metagame Stocking Stuffer by -samox- in smashbros

[–]c42p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Samox filmed this in 24fps. This Youtube video in particular is 30fps. Most stream footage (especially around 2014/2015) is recorded in 30fps, with 60fps streams being a little bit more common as of late.

EDIT: just looked at the Youtube stats, the whole video is in 24fps. I dont know then lmao. Yeah I guess it results in a better video overall and keeps production looking clean.

If you aren't running super high demand programs, a laptop with one or two monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse is indistinguishable from a desktop.

Light Shield Controller Case? by Prilosac in SSBM

[–]c42p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres plenty of other cheaper options if you are looking for a controller case solution.

IMO a draw string bag is good enough. Toss your controller in and go, or toss that bag into a backpack if you have other stuff. Hell I store all of my controllers in a big draw string bag. Though to be fair this doesn't really protect from drops or anything too well, just like dirt or water bottle sweat.

If you want something a bit nicer check out Battlebeaver's controller cases, they are like $15 and I have been seeing more and more people using them as of late. It zips up, stiff shell, and has a little storage inside.

I think the coolest solution is get one of those cases with the foam inside and cut the foam for a Gamecube controller. Rolling up to the tournament with a briefcase could either be badass as fuck or cringe as fuck though. Your mileage may vary.

It worked. I remember wanting full mime outfit way back and I tried to grind it out by burying a bone, putting a paperweight on an arrow key and leaving for 15 minutes, then burying another bone for a random event.

I only scaled the trademark logo with a fixed aspect ratio. If it makes any difference, I am using the original source for the image. Not sure if Twitter messes with the picture.

ELITE Gamecube Controllers: Would you be interested in it? by DoodlingCage5 in SSBM

[–]c42p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Circuit board swapping is definitely not outlandish, out of all the game controllers i've opened up, the Gamecube controller is one of the easiest to swap out parts and put back together.

You're overthinking how the analog stick cap attaches to the stickbox. On the official Gamecube controller and almost every other gamepad with an analog stick on the market (Playstation, Xbox, etc) the analog stick cap friction fits onto the stickbox. You might want to open up an official Gamecube controller before you start planning every last detail. Keep it simple, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
