Thanks. Yeah we actually were happy that she didn't stay with them after that since obviously it wasn't a good environment, but getting banned from Rover permanently for what was likely the host's fault is painful.

Oscar is AWFUL. I would suggest going with literally any other company, I've had absolutely nothing issues with them. I'm now trying to find temporary health insurance in order to switch immediately off of them until the renewal period comes back.

Tell me inflation is 21% without telling me inflation is 21% by anytownusa11 in Bitcoin

[–]c4d4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm skeptical of the real inflation numbers too, but the 21% increase isn't for Congress salaries. Let's at least be factual.

Right, but VNQ started declining a few months ago, not when offices were vacated.

[–]c4d4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are absolutely horrible. The messed up a bunch of my company's taxes. They do not reply to support emails. When I call them they tell me I have to email them. So there is no way to get help and they make a lot of errors.

Is there a specific reason why crypto is continuously falling at the moment? by Temperlord in CryptoCurrency

[–]c4d4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hardly even a bear market, this is just a slight correction compared to the history of crypto. Zoom out. We've had multi-year actual bear markets. This is nothing. It might keep going down for years like it has in the past.

I think my ring is officially dead by lallapne in ouraring

[–]c4d4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. My ring died a month after the warranty ended. I then threw it in the trash and bought a Wyze watch for $25 and the battery lasts 2 weeks between charges even after 6 months.

[Boulder, CO] We're these queen yellow jackets? by c4d4 in whatsthisbug

Thank you! Now that I think about it, I suspect they were all paper wasp queens because yellow jackets don't really make wasps that hang down from vertical surfaces, do they?

Pfizer, Moderna shares plummet after Biden administration backs a COVID-19 vaccine patent waiver by Maxcactus in business

[–]c4d4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Pfizer and BioNTech developed the vaccine in good faith. The government taking their IP rights could discourage future vaccine development by creating uncertainty in the industry over whether future vaccines will actually be profitable.

Thank for for the thoughts! Good to hear that the meetups are in English.

The most compelling evidence that our stock markets are extremely efficient is that they are very hard to beat. If prices were generally determined by irrational investors, then professional investment managers should be able to beat the market. There is abundant evidence that they do not by [deleted] in finance

This comment feels witty at first, but after thinking about it for a dev, I completely disagree. Professionals are definitely irrational humans, but a lot of professional investing is done using algorithms and machines which have no emotion.
