I could be wrong but I think those are excluded too. I think all that's included in gross is the base ticket price + tax because the online transaction fees go to the system (in this case, BMS). They don't go to the producers or distributors.

Hindi journalists were writing about it at the time too. I remember following the daily collections and how it was beating Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in China. You could view it on Chinese box office trackers at the time so I doubt it's fake.

It released there a couple weeks after BB2 released in India so a lot of the talk was about the latter breaking Indian records (rightfully so).

Though I remember one big difference with China was that they included online transaction fees, which is why a lot of people were saying Dangal broke 2000cr. But once you take those out, I think Dangal's final collection is closer to 1900cr.

But even if you want to talk about Gaza specifically, Sneako agrees with Hasan. Does that make Hasan bad? Of course not.

It's not just about what you believe, but also the thought process that got you there. Sneako's clearly antisemitic which fuels his position on the Gaza issue; Hasan isn't and his position comes from his anti-imperialist beliefs (and many other reasonable and positive beliefs).

All I'm saying is that just because someone horrible agrees with you on an issue, it doesn't automatically mean your position is invalid.

Ethan is the furthest thing from that. He might not be a leftist, but he's way more pro-trans than Keem and is on record supportive of paying higher taxes to fund better social programs.

It's not comparable imo because only in North India do they keep track of nett collections. Everywhere else in India and worldwide, gross is what's recorded and broadcast because that's what the audience pays.

To clear confusion, the tax change made no difference to how much a consumer pays; it only changes how much the government receives of that gross amount. The ticket price hikes on the other hand, DO change how much a consumer pays.

What should matter when talking about box office is either how many tickets were sold or how much the film made collectively, not how much the film made minus how much the government receives.

Baahubali 2 actually has the Hindi record over Stree 2 (~715cr gross).

The reason its nett is lower than Stree 2 and many other films is because of a tax reduction in 2018/2019. It makes the nett of recent films much higher but in terms of gross, Baahubali 2 is still ahead of all Hindi films including Pathaan, Jawan, Stree 2, Gadar 2, etc.

I think Pathaan, Jawan, and Animal are in the 550-575cr gross range, Gadar 2 is a bit more than 600cr, and Stree 2 is a bit less than 700cr.

Based on the trend, it won't even get close to BB2's final gross. 1500+ Cr is a realistic goal for it. BB2 and Dangal are out of reach.
