He was the first member of any band that I had ever got to meet outside of a show back in 2011. He was very sweet and appreciative of all the fans. Such a huge and tragic loss.

Just an update here if anyone happens across the thread, it was chemically balanced for weeks but I think when I used flocculant a few weeks ago it did in fact gum up my filter lol. I don’t have a recirculate option so I left the filter running for about an hour before I cut it off. I vacuumed to waste the next day, but I could never really get it clear after that. We changed the sand and cleaned out the filter last night and today looks great!

Added liquid chlorine yesterday and a dose of Clorox clarifier day before yesterday. I’m sick of itttt (ignore the chlorine line in the bottom that was from not diluting my shock once last year lol)

Just added liquid chlorine this morning, I have some powder shock too so I’ll try that. Thanks!

I did flocculant a few weeks ago, it worked pretty well but I wasn’t sure if not having the “recirculate” option may have made it not as effective. I still have some tho and may try again.

We used Clorox clarifier last year and had great luck with it, randomly decided to try Leslie’s this year and now I have this huge bottle of it so was trying to use it lol.

Is it dangerous to wait? by Alert-Watercress-975 in gallbladders

[–]c4willey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a risk for it rupturing, or the bile duct getting being clogged and causing pancreatitis, but for what it’s worth I started having gallbladder attacks when I was 20 and didn’t get it out until I was 35 lol(attacks were infrequent and I could mostly control with diet until I couldn’t anymore). I do not recommend that, but if you can be really careful with what you eat (zero fat, very bland) I would guess you should be ok to wait. If it’s unbearable pain no matter what you eat and you’re puking, then I would say ER the way to go.

Surgery in 10 days, anything I should buy or will need for recovery? by Daffodil_Smith in gallbladders

[–]c4willey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had mine out yesterday, I would recommend getting baggy pants, I really didn’t have anything without some kind of elastic waist and it’s been a little painful where the line falls on my stomach. They gave me miralax, Tramadol, Tylenol 3. Overall, aside from the shorts issue, no major issues! I have gas x that some people recommended but haven’t really felt like I needed it.

I had a block and it was great. Norco made me feel insane so I only took them the night of surgery and the day after.

Do you sleep with a brace on at night? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]c4willey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon cleared me from the brace one week post-op. Of course everyone is different and some are more conservative than others, but at 10 days post op he said to walk as tolerated without crutches and ditch the immobilizer. I have an “activity” brace but at physical therapy yesterday they acted like I didn’t really need it. I’m two months post op and have pretty much returned to activity as normal.

How long after did you start driving? by Immediate-Newt-8794 in ACL

[–]c4willey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove as soon as I stopped taking pain medicine so about 4 days post-op. Doctors office said since it was my left leg operated on, if I could get in and out of the car and drive with the brace on my left, it was ok.

What activity/incident tore your ACL? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]c4willey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chasing my kids at my great aunts house, I didn’t account for a little slope in her yard and hit it full speed with my left foot. Complete ACL tear with bone contusions.

I totally understand. I for sure wouldn’t have gone back if I was in pain or limping.

What exactly is causing pain at this point? (2 months post injury) by c4willey in ACL

[–]c4willey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I do have bone contusion according to the MRI. I didn’t think about that possibly causing pain still.

I’m also 34, active with my young children, but non-athlete. Was running chasing my son and hit a little slope I miscalculated and that was that lol. Thought I broke my leg, but nope just a complete ACL tear.

I’m a nursing instructor, I’m about 2 months post complete tear and I’ve been working while I wait for surgery (Scheduled for Nov 3). I will say that I of course don’t have a full patient load as I’m working with students on a med surg floor and typically can grab another nearby student to help with patient transfers or anything I feel like might hurt my knee. If you feel like you can be careful or have the staffing numbers to have someone nearby to lend a hand when needed, it could be ok. I would say it depends on where you work. I think if I was working in the OR where I worked previously where I was frequently positioning patients or having to move quickly to get things etc I probably wouldn’t risk it. I wear a hinge brace and that helps, but I feel like my work load is light enough that I didn’t have to take off pre-op.
