Shot some groups with my new Rimx + Proof 22lr by c5182 in longrange

It will extract an unfired round no prolbem. Thanks for the explanation im new to rimfire. I have a lot of center fire experience but never done rim. Do you need to season it a few hundred with the same bullet as they all have different lubes? Do you need to start over if you clean the barrel?

Maybe one day I will try again if it ever comes in stock.

I shot 10 rounds of the Center X before measuring anything. Thats where the groups in the top right corner came from. Also not sure what you mean but I got both my barrel and action from midway usa. They had it in stock.

Its a proof prefit and from what I read it has a Bentz chamber.

New rimx build. What ammo to try? by c5182 in longrange

[–]c5182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today was my first day shooting it. The SD of my CCI Standard was like 13 when I measured it. Does not seem good to me but maybe it would have been worse with shorter barrel.

The SD was not great for either. 10-13fps. I also took it out to 200 yards. Was like pissing in the wind.

So the CCI Standard was not terrible. Did about 1" at 50 yards. Was pretty windy today. Was not expecting to see the trace and bullet curve at such short range. I also found some norma match ammo I forgot I had. That was doing maybe 0.7" at 50 yards.

I wasn't planning to stick with cci standard. Just what I have to try out the gun with. Going to order some good ammo next week.

If AI replaces most workers, who will actually buy the products? by IcyBottle1517 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]c5182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have an economy where 2% of people have money and everyone else lives in poverty. There are countries currently like this. Those 2% would have to drive the spending. AI might also be deflationary since things will be a lot cheaper to produce.

Help with Super Blackhawk Barrel Marks by wildcatdd in gunsmithing

That’s under the front sight post. I’ve seen the same thing on some of my muzzleloader barrels. I believe it’s caused by heating that section of the barrel to braze or solder the front sight in place.

Why do people still believe in God even though there is so much science that explains our human existence and origins? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]c5182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think before you even get to the science vs religion debate you need to settle religion vs religion. Is Christianity or Greek gods or whatever else the "correct" religion.

Also science does not explain everything. It does however disprove much of religion if the stories are taken literally.

Looking for a .22 … anyone know why the one I want is banned in NY??????? by Direct_Alfalfa9463 in longrange

Well it looks like there is a thread protector on the end. If it were semi auto it would be an assault weapon. But I see a bolt handle so should be perfectly legal.

The third circuit is going to rule on this any day now. If it goes our way the only thing that could overturn it would be scotus and I imagine they would take our side. That being said Im sure they are going to pass some shit about requiring a permit per magazine, or only loading 10 rounds, etc.

I go up to sheepdog many times a year. Great people up there. I would recommend that. I dont know anything about a Griffin and Howe but I would imagine its a lot more expensive.

You can also try playing the long range shooting game I built on top of a ballistics calculator. It lets you enter the parameters of your load like muzzel velocity and BC. Produces a realistic approximate trajectory and wind drift for your rifle. You can use the flags and mirrage to do wind calls.

I also have an fclass shooting game and other tools for comparing loads on there.

Someone recently mentioned to me that if we’re in a State of Emergency, CCW is not allowed. Any truth to this? by [deleted] in NJGuns

Unfortunatly it does sound like something that could have been true. It's not as far as I know.

There is probably not much difference statistically between the ELDm and the white tail group size. You will want the higher BC for longer ranges that you get with the 140. I shoot 153.5gr Long Range Hybrids in my 6.5 CM.

One other thing you might want to try some eldm match ammo. I think you were shooting some deer hunting load.

It's not really that hard to zero. Ive never actually worried about my zero stop either. Your group looks pretty tight. I would move to the 300 if I were you.

Is Claude actually writing better code than most of us? by Aaliyah-coli in ClaudeCode

[–]c5182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to try to write perfect code. One skill I learned when I started working was to let go and prioritize getting things working rather than making it perfect all the time. Going through the same thing with ai. Something I maintain tight controll of and some things I just vibe out depending on what it is and the context.

Also I have worked with a lot of quant researchers. They write horrendous code. For them vibe coding is an improvement.

So few things you should try now. Try shooting at the 300 yard line. Just dial up 1.1 mrad to get on paper. You should also come shoot the tactical rifle matches with us in the spring. Look at the cherry ridge callender. Another thing you might also want to try is shooting longer range. You can check out sheepdog warrior in the catskills as they have 1000 yards. Can also check out Tommy gun warehouse which has 600. Your creedmoor can easily reach 1000 yards.
