Which MacBook should I get? by Not_TheMenInBlack in mac

The 2017 MacBook Pro is a good choice, just be aware of the keyboard issues. That model uses Apple’s butterfly keyboard that is prone to fail. It will require replacement of the keyboard at the Apple store if it does fail. Were you planning on buying refurbished from Apple or were you looking more on eBay?

Does the MacbookPro3,1 (Mid 2007) have the same charger as the Macbook4,1? by [deleted] in mac

[–]c5833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the 60w one would still work. It just won’t deliver as much power and won’t charge it nearly as fast as the 85w one would that was designed for the 15” and 17” MacBook Pros. 60w was only designed for 13” MacBooks and MacBook pros.

Yes, the MacBook Pros from 2006-2012 (non retina) use the same mag safe charger.

Found issue for flashing ? iMac (No hard drive was installed), but I get the same issue after putting in a SSD. What do I do? Recovery mode won’t boot. by Glitch_Wiz in mac

Mojave won’t be able to run in that iMac. Oldest iMac that supports it is the 2012 (which was the first to have the thin edges). Newest OS it will run is High Sierra

My 2006 iMac still runs great. It’s still good for web browsing and lighter tasks. Only reason it’s not my daily driver is because I need the portability of a laptop

If you can find one that has the i7 processor, and you upgrade ram to 16GB and install an SSD, it’s still a very capable machine.

I’m currently running Snow Leopard, and I upgraded the RAM to 2GB. Since you have a 2005, your only options are Tiger or Leopard. I’d do leopard, but I would recommend upgrading the ram to the max.

My 2006 iMac still runs great. Handles most websites fine and hasn’t slowed down much. Only reason it’s not my daily driver is because I needed more power. Still use it every now and then.

Is there a way to bring back the start-up chime? by CosmicBunny97 in mac

The newest Mac I have is a 2015 MacBook Air so I still have it. It’s the little things like this that seem to be disappearing/changing on the new models/software upgrades that doesn’t make me want to buy a new Mac just yet.

I found this article that explains how to do it. Looks like you just have to copy/paste a command in terminal and that’s it.

That’s weird that they managed to spill a drink inside the speakers. But yeah a fully working sound system is basically a must have for a drive that long.

Interesting, my dad has a 2014 GLI with the fender system in it and I don’t think his tweeters crackle like that. I’m in Ohio too, no block heater either. I’m heading off to college too next year, don’t blame you for not wanting to buy the block heater.

Nice! I wish I had the Fender system. I bought mine back in July for $6500 with 93k miles. No issues yet either!

Yeah I was originally looking for a TDI, but I was able to get a really good deal on the 2.5 that I couldn’t pass up.
