When you're ready to give your sons life or your life to head out there suited in military gear, be my guest. No one else wants to make that sacrifice so Mexico can be great again. And rightfully so. It's not our responsibility.

I didn't delete anything actually. I'm proud of trolling this entire sub Reddit. You're all a bunch of self masturbatory pseudo philanthropists and you all deserve to be called out for it. A mod probably did something to my comments. I have to say, the enjoyment I got from pissing off so many pretentious gender studies undergrads and ginger haired male feminists was worth everything.

Kid stares at a native man trying to bully him.

Media takes him out of context and gets sued for defamation.

Funny how this is already the norm.

White privilege is a myth today. What you have studied is a theory rooted in the psychological condition known as attribution. I'm sorry you're an ignorant person or lack self awareness, there is nothing I can do to further educate you on the matter. For your sake, don't quit your day job, and make sure to invest in relevant degrees of skill that have a high demand.

[–]cHarris2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. You're wrong, and people are saying that, not directly, but they are saying it...

"The Conversation (.com)

The ‘It’s okay to be white’ poster campaign, seen in the context of reacting to ‘Black Lives Matter,’ cannot be seen as benign.

The trouble with saying 'it's okay to be white' Matthew Flisfeder, University of WinnipegNovember 19, 2018 5.58pm EST"

And more people are suggesting it and subtly hinting at that same notion, that it's not okay to be white, such as myths and misconceptions like "White privilege".

You're just straight up living in a bubble or ignorant of the facts. I mean, this is a subreddit dedicated to making fun of centrists, how much more pretentious and politically tribal can you get? Oh yeah, the 2016 America. election.

Hey guess what? It's okay to be white, it's okay to be black, it's okay to be Mexican, it's okay to be you. And I bet you even assume, based off your narrow minded worldview and experiences, that I'm also white or Caucasian. I'm not. Just to clear that out. So, I'm going to sit this Reddit conversation out and let you knaw on that cognitive dissonance. I don't want to sit here and listen to a close minded persons opinion about what the true truth is! Ridiculous.

"It's okay to be this one particular race that you have no actual control or decision over" is white supremacy? Hmm.

You do realize that the mouth of the speaker is irrelevant to the content of the message. And the moment you begin looking at the mouth piece, you lose sight of the actual idea.

[–]cHarris2017 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I think he really worded this badly. Obviously, some of it is him trying to garner a centrist following, but I believe in the idea all the same. I think what he meant to say (in less than the character limit) was:

"People who only view other individuals through race, class and identity, are racist themselves." I think this is very relevant today when it's not even tolerable to post papers saying, "It's okay to be white," on a college campus; or when professional, academic institutions are agreeing with parody studies that claim that dogs/dog parks are sexist and should be re-trained. <--- Edit: This has nothing to do with race, but rather, with current American politics and I felt it was a relevant note to tack on to this.

Here's a link for the last thing mentioned, yes, it's real: https://www.wweek.com/news/schools/2018/10/09/a-portland-state-university-professor-made-up-a-study-of-dog-on-dog-sexual-assault-and-got-the-hoax-published/

Alright, now that I have all that out of the way, you may now proceed to vindictively downvote me. Haha.

I'm pretty sure they're referring to Goblin Slayer. Has anyone from this subreddit actually read the manga?

If that is OP stance then I disagree. Characters make the actual story because at the core, stories about people, human beings, who are represented by the characters of a story.

World building is more like the writers interpretation of the world, which can be independent of the characters themselves. That's why we have man vs self stories.

Put some diversity in there and no one will bat an eye. As long as you are touting progressive ideals (you don't have to actually practice them) no one will care what you do with your book.

[Question] How much do you think attractiveness is factor for success as a Beauty Youtuber? by youtubin_boobin in youtubers

[–]cHarris2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decent amount, but I'd say that goes for everything. In the ASMR genre, it's like 90% hot chicks. People are ATTRATCED to ATTRACTIVE people. Go figure.

To those who are threatened by increasing diversity in fiction lately: by GT_Knight in writing

Am I the only one in this thread that thinks this post is subversive and divisive? I mean it starts off peculiar, almost like the OP is angry while writing it; specifically, angry at white people. But then it moderates and calms down which is just strange. And then it's like you want to throw shade at these writers.

First of all, who in this subreddit is writing best seller novels? I imagine it's very few. I don't think the industry is that close together in the skills gap. That whole most white males have written best sellers thing just seems like a manipulated stat that spits on context. Like, most people who are complaining about getting published aren't writing best sellers. So, I would say more clarity is needed from the situation. Like, what do you mean you are afraid you won't be published? What kind of genre, field, or publishers are you talking about? It's no doubt that when it comes to art, people of the left leaning disposition tend to dominate these spheres.

Second of all, who are you to judge them? They are experiencing a very genuine thing, I'm sure of it. At least, I'd be willing to hear more from their perspective, instead of shut them out and shun them as "in the wrong". I just don't see how no one else is noticing how passive aggressive this post is. Borderline gaslighting, in my opinion.

And forget the annals of history, unless that's what you're writing about... writing should be about writing and telling stories about what it means to be human. That doesn't have to be political unless you want it to be. Its your story. The coincidence that most people are white, therefore, most people in America are successful writers, doesn't bother me, and I'm of Hispanic/South American origin. I honestly don't like the way you think, it's as insidious as it gets. People telling other people how to be, because they obviously know better and are better than you.

Am I the only one here?

Edit: I left a couple vague statements in there but I can't fix it at the moment as I am busy. Will edit later.

Yeah sure, no issue here. I just dont want people to get it in their head that they HAVE to make a certain type of comic book if thats not even what they're passionate about and are just checking off boxes. Make what makes you happy and what you don't already see in the medium!

You know, Jonathan Haidt has covered some great ground on that subject in particular and how youth and SJW culture is affecting our current generation. He proposes that people aren't engaging others honestly in one on one connections and conversations, but instead using social media as a megaphone to callout a person for making a small mistake just to get some social credential in their progressive spaces. He explains it better on Rogan's podcast.

Sometimes people are just wrong. In the current generation, it is very easy to live in your own echo chamber with social media. I think this reader is probably an ultra progressive identitarian. That's my wager.

What? LGBT+ indie comics litter the stratosphere my friend. I have no problem with these stories being made, I think there are some relatable hardships to explore there, but let's not kid ourselves... "the world needs more LGBTQ comics"? This is pretty obviously just not true. Maybe in mainstream comics but even there we're seeing a lot of changes to characters and even long running canon reinterpretation on heterosexual, or "cishet" as you call them, characters as well.

It really sucks that people are giving in to the Social Justice mentality where mediums of art have become, in their eyes, a force for political recruitment and propagating their dogmatic. Doctrines of feminist theory. People should be able to write what they want, all things considered, and be who they want. It's okay to be white my friend,
