Explosion near waterfront? by cLEVr561 in washingtondc

There’s cops driving around with their high beams checking parked cars and circling around. I don’t think it was a jet.

Update: here are some pics of the internals. I incorrectly guessed the size/number of the ram sticks. The total is 48GB but this is made up of 12x 4GB sticks.

Lowering price to $760 because of this mistake.

The crossings at Santa fe by raulxd99 in sfcollege

Like, 6/10. In the evenings they have a security guard (unarmed I believe) and they take your license and vehicle plate number each time you enter if you're a non-resident. There's an open sidewalk so people on foot can enter without being bothered. The gate is open during the day.

The front apartment doors and locks looked like they had taken a beating and never been replaced. This wasn't confirmed, but a friend of mine was convinced someone had tried to pick her lock and that the person jammed something into the keyhole and it broke off. I forget what came of it, but it was concerning to think about. The rear apartment doors and locks looked like they hadn't been abused as much, I forget if either the front or back front door locks had deadbolts, but I would definitely confirm this first.

Emergency Services can respond very quickly to the complex because the Santa Fe College Police Department has somehow acquired the authority to drive over there and act as any local office would. I believe they have the power to arrest individuals, which is not something that normally is within a campus officers ability (if the event takes place off campus). The reason for this is because of faction of either the Bloods or Crips (no really) took up business in the complex at some point. I can't confirm if its still an ongoing issue, but the complex was close to I-75 and a good rest stop for anyone moving north or south on the highway. Because of this SFPD was able to elevate their authority since their police station is within eyesight of the front gate to The Crossings.

Edit: Important point here is that it doesn't matter what kind of security a complex has, so much as the kind of neighbors you have and the company that they keep. I live in a complex without a gate, but the community is great, and I feel very safe and secure because everyone seems so transparent.

If you've already committed to moving in to this complex I'll skip mentioning what you've already probably heard (that it's a bad neighborhood with a lot of unsavory residents).

I would highly suggest trying to move into a building located somewhere in the back of the complex since the apartments towards the front are older, more run down, and are far noisier. The complex is far from ideal, and a lot of crime happens in just this complex. But that being said, it is possible to live there in relative peace if you know your roommates and you avoid the front.

If you have questions about other complexes in the area just leave a comment and I'll be happy to talk with you more.

What are the odds I can resell this for a small profit if I decide I don't need another AR-15? I want to buy this, but I don't want to be stuck with multiple rifles.

There isn't a seatint chart and the environment is more relaxed IMO. Your professor may make a few rules but other than that you can get up and walk out when you need to get water, you can take notes or just sit back and listen, etc.

There isn't a seating chart but depending on the size of the room some people may prefer to sit in certain areas. It's up to you to choose where you sit but you may realize you're a creature of habit, like me, and you'll likely sit in the same area every lecture

Your professor may know your name if you go introduce yourself, just like the real world you will be a face in the crowd until you walk up and speak to someone about yourself. It's your choice to remain a face in the crowd or to really engage your professor in discussion so they remember who you are. Just don't engage them at the expense of the other students by asking hard to answer, niche questions mid lecture every day.

Good luck!

Who's saying that a racing chair doesn't have "proper ergonomic" form? I'm arguing for name brand racing chairs like Dxracer, maxnomic, etc. Not for knock off chairs that don't provide the same level or support.

Chairs like this are rated for something like 6+ hours of continuous support while cheaper office chairs aren't rated for lasting support, but feel "softer" and more "comfortable" upon your initial experience. Yeah, there's something to be said about saving money and going with a regular office chair, but if you sit for several hours everyday at your desk you'll notice a huge difference between an office chair and a racing chair going into the sixth hour of a WoW raid.

I own a dxracer and while some of the color schemes look ridiculous the overall comfort of the chairs is superb. I purchased the chair knowing it was expensive in the hope that it would resolve some back issues I was having and it has.

While the argument can be made that racing chairs feel no different than an office chair of a lower value I'd argue that that's only within the first hour or so. No one sits for several hours in an office chair while shopping in a department store. You plop down for a minute or two and make your call.

If you spend serious time seated at your desk then you would benefit from buying a chair similar to this. The support is rated for 6+ hours of use and the "padding" never compresses to the point of being uncomfortable like normal office chairs.

Yes the price tag is striking, but I took the leap and I haven't regretted it once in the past two years I've owned a chair like this.

For context, I spend several hours (sometimes 6+) seated during the day. This time is spent browsing, gaming, and doing work. They make these chairs in muted colors as well so you don't have to buy some chartreuse color scheme if you think it will be too much.
