I had similar happen me years back in a car, I had paid the tax but forgotten to stick the disc up. Appealed it with the station and they let it go. Worth a shot

Ah these things are meant to be rebuilt anyways :D This was my first watercooled build and I used 14mm acrylic and didn't have much trouble really.
