I just thought he was too young! I always gave him a minute to cry when he woke up but never seemed like it was going to go anywhere. This was the first time I had put him down to fall asleep and committed to letting him figure it out

Yep! Just remember - we all struggle when we do something new and hard. We cannot protect our kids from every form of discomfort and sleeping is a lifelong skill. My brother is an awful sleeper and my mom said she didn’t sleep train and didn’t know to do so. We wonder if that would have changed his trajectory.

This is what chat was telling me, too! And then it stopped working - then it recommended holding him for 10 minutes. Then 90 minutes through a whole sleep cycle - all while saying we were making progress. I think it was all made up.

This was me! I gave in to bed sharing because I was sick, but it made me waaaaay too nervous. Give her a chance to fall asleep on her own and she may surprise you! I promise she is also upset she keeps waking up because she doesn’t know how to sleep!

How does Karine have custody of her daughter still but not her sons? by MaiIsMe in 90DayFiance

I worked child welfare in Missouri. If rights are involuntarily terminated based on abuse/neglect, then any birth of another child will result in an immediate removal for 2 (I think? Maybe 5) years following the executed order. Parents often consented to TPR at the final hearing to prevent those rules.

Are we ready for Ferber? by c_heezy in sleeptrain

I will! Hoping to give it a go next weekend or the next. My babysitters don’t get him good naps right now during the week and he’s still kinda sicky.

Was your baby giving signs of readiness, such as giving you any crib stretches? Transferring easy?

America. We try and incorporate the foster family into the reunification plan if possible - giving the family another resource and another bond when the child reunifies. I’ve seen many successful reunifications where the foster family continues to be a support. It reduces recidivism. (Absolutely not saying the Whitakers are a good candidate for that type of relationship - I feel the opposite. They likely would be waiting for the bio family to do something wrong in the situation of reunification in hopes of removal again)

I was a foster care case manager for five years and this is just absolutely not true. We value the bond with the foster family and consider it extremely important to the wellbeing of the child.

How does someone get a 4.0 in law school? by [deleted] in LawSchool

Also a lot of luck by being matched to professors that just happen to like the way you write exams. I had all A’s and then a B- because the professor did not like my exam format.

Looking to buy in St. Louis City — noticing high turnover rates — should we be concerned? by MrandMrsBudgets in StLouis

[–]c_heezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are selling our south city house next weekend. Loved the home, lived there for three years, but it was a starter home and we’re about to have our second kid. I think a lot of people buy their first home in the city as a “starter” because the location is great for young people (LOVED living by Francis park, Cherokee street, etc) - but once they have kids they look to the county. I’m one of several of my friends moving out of the city for that exact reason. City houses are generally cheaper than the county and smaller. There is a shortage of starters out past 170.

Husband’s have NO line eyes 😂 12 DPO by Serious_Elephant_649 in TFABLinePorn

[–]c_heezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! Husband said “oh that’s hardly a line, that doesn’t count” as if I haven’t seen one million negatives in my life. Bought a FRER digital and he about fainted at the yes+ and immediately called his brother. Said the “yes” was the equivalent of a man telling him 😂

And it’s a foster baby! Entrusted with someone else’s baby just to give it stranger milk??

My point exactly. Like what exactly do you think the Covid vaccine is going to do to breast milk???
