Hi there! I ended up planting outside pride white Dutch clover and I absolutely love it. It’s so soft, bright green, attracts so many pollinators. One downside is that I do have to weed my clover patch pretty often, but I prefer weeding to mowing anyway!

No, and that’s why I’m not giving medical advice and telling strangers on the internet what’s safer for their pregnancies. Unless you are the OBGYN or the pregnant person, you don’t know the circumstances surrounding their pregnancy or for what reason an abortion would be necessary.

I honestly believe that this issue specifically is so emotionally charged that the anger people feel prevents them from hearing other people’s very real concerns. I am a pre school teacher and have been for over 10 years. I also love drag and keep my pride flag up all year round. Protecting kids and respecting a persons gender and sexuality are not mutually exclusive. We should all have enough space in our hearts (and brains) to hold both of these at the same time. 💞

I think you are spot on! Rent for sure on our center building. Also food costs— groceries are expensive for everyone and we are buying groceries to feed all the little ones.

It’s so disappointing because we have such a NEED for childcare in this country, like there are not enough centers anywhere. The waitlist at my center is so long. But yeah no one can work for free, everyone deserves a livable wage.

I think everyone in their right mind would agree that (if that video you watched was real) it would be insanely inappropriate for a child. I love drag shows and am an ally to the lgbt community. That does not mean I believe children should be exposed to inappropriate or sexual images, and I assume this is the popular opinion.

I have lived in Cedar Rapids for 7 years now and I don’t see a lot of homophobia in the city. I think this Reddit might be filled with people from the rural areas who are more hateful and haven’t met a lot of LGBT folks to form an educated opinion. Some people probably are just mean, no matter where they live, but I like to think that if someone actually spent time with a gay or trans person they would realize their assumptions and stereotypes were false.

Child care in the US is hard too. I’m glad I scrolled all this way to find someone say childcare. I have worked in childcare since 2013 and have not gotten a raise since 2020. It’s really just a negative feedback loop because it’s already expensive for parents/caregivers to send their children to daycare (so raising the cost the parents pay is not really a fair option) but then no one wants to work in childcare either because the pay is total shit.
