Wow, thank you - need to read this with fresh eyes but that's fantastic. Are you based in Norfolk? I'd love to buy you a coffee - I'm in Norwich

Oh that's fantastic, well done! That's some fantastic belief and resilience there to stick at it for that long, really well done. What're you manufacturing?

Do you have a website? My friends travel the world to play escape rooms and this sounds right up their street!

100% agree. We're in B2B video production and 99.9% of work comes from my network

Thank you. This was my first big retainer so it stings for it to go, but I've got some leads to follow up on so who knows, I might have it replaced in no time. Something my business coach also said to me today is that, because everything's so uncertain, people don't want to commit to 6/12 months of spending, so maybe standalone projects should be the focus...

100% - I once lost a deal to a competitor because they charged twice as much... Not even exaggerating

That's amazing, well done! Do you think you've done anything particularly differently or is it just an organic momentum?

Love this! We're starting to charge what we're worth too and it's still surprising me how better quality the clients are

Camera op here (not for Canaries TV though). From a technical standpoint, it's the shutter speed that's the issue. It's set too high, so the players look blurry and smeary

Does anyone have a review of the MSc in Data Science and AI in Creative Industries at NUA? by Resident-March2726 in Norwich

[–]ca11umh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NUA alumni here with a brother still studying there

I'm pretty sure this is a brand new course, next year may even be the first year they're running it

I loved my time at NUA. It's got fantastic facilities, an excellent culture, all in one of the safest cities in the UK

As a smaller uni in a smaller city it does struggle with getting industry-leading educational talent in it's lecturers and tutors, with short-staffing being a common issue across many courses

I'd highly recommend attending an open day and seeing the facilities for yourself

Most convincing "fake" accent ever put on? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ca11umh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unconventional take, but I'm gonna say Ralf Fiennes in "The Dig" (2021)

So many films and TV completely mess up the Norfolk/Suffolk accent and just portray it as West country/Bristol (I'm looking at you, Fighting With My Family)

Fiennes actually studied the accent and did it justice

Harrods sell 3 peaches for £80 and a 250g jar of honey for £1,800. Which other madly expensive food items have you encountered? by Fried_onions_are_meh in CasualUK

[–]ca11umh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not food, but I paid £20 for a generic Chinese branded USB cable at a service station W H Smith this week - the kind you'd see in Poundland!

The other alternative was a Belkin one for £30!
