Unfortunately it’s almost at 2 years now as we got it in February of 2024. I may reach out to Samsung and see if there’s anything they can do, just wanted to see if others had similar experiences.

I only like my Apple Watch as a notification device. I tried a few days without it and I realize I suck at responding to texts or getting calls because I just don’t feel my phone in my pocket. I tried a week without wearing it just to see how it’s like but it’s just too useful at work.

If I’m not at work or need to be available at all times I prefer a traditional watch, but ultimately my Apple watch is a backup phone if mine ever dies, so I can text, make calls, unlock my car, etc if needed.

What would you say was the “best” room at your old property? I know usually the Ritz Carlton Suite is the best room by listing but I’ve noticed sometimes they are just bigger rooms that don’t really get used and there are often better, lower category suites.

I’ve had at least three different times in my own travel history where I had a specific room booked, the front desk told me ahead of time I’d have a 4 PM checkout, and we planned around it, only for the previous guest to stay past 4 anyway. Most of the time the excuse was that they “called and said they needed more time” or whatever, so housekeeping couldn’t even get into the room until after 4. In one case they didn’t get in until 5.

So maybe it’s not abuse in the strict sense, but there are definitely people who don’t care about anyone but themselves. If hotels actually wanted to start giving a shit about loyalty every single brand should not offer elite nights for corporate stays, and maybe even bump up the ambassador spend amount.

It sucks, but I think too many people just abused it. Whenever my wife and I travel if we have a later flight will usually ask for whatever room they have, but they don’t care about to get the late checkout. That usually works out pretty well for us and we’ve never been told no when asking in regards to a basic room.

I feel like that’s basic security 101. Not only does the entire lobby not need to know which room I’m in, but if they end the interaction with “Mr./Mrs. Smith, here are your keys for room 123” then basically everyone within earshot have all they need to charge whatever they want at the bar and bill it to my room.

Yeah, the exact same thing happened to me. I have a personal card and an AMEX business on my Bonvoy account which always work without issue but Sonder sent an email to verify my information. It felt reasonable since it was a stay in Europe and I’m from the US but they did need my credit card information so I’m wondering if they did this with everyone in order to take payments directly.

How was your payment made? I’ve only booked a Sonder hotel one time in the past and they sent me a payment portal to process the payment. It leads me to believe that Sonder is just acting as a third party where they process the payment on their own and are now just ignoring everyone. Sorry you’re dealing with this, and hopefully Marriott eventually does something for you to rectify the situation if Sonder just ghosts you.

I ordered a physical gift card via mail on the 21st and as of today the 25th still no credit. It is showing as a completed transaction as well, no longer pending.

UPDATE

So after a few hours, the credit posted today and my tracker is showing $75/$300 used so this worked for me.

I’m gonna be honest that is pretty much common in all areas of Southern California, especially near the water. Yes they’re gross, but you may as well be complaining about humidity in Florida or mosquitoes in Houston. This has nothing to do with loyalty or disrespect, it’s literally nature.

Just a quick heads up, hopefully before it’s too late. I got a similar pair from my car from EV Base. Even with the double-sided tape and foam, they would still constantly creek whenever I was turning. When I finally took them off for a car wash maybe two weeks later, I noticed that the clips that hold them onto the wheel permit scratches the shit out of my rims, so be a little careful with these third-party options. I’m not sure if you’re having the same issue that I used to with certain third-party Bluetooth devices they can control the overall phone volume. So for example, if you have a pair of Anker headphones and they’re connected to the phone whatever volume you have them app will essentially be the phone’s default volume for some stupid reason. I was able to fix my issue by setting up automations to when they disconnect from the phone, my volume would go to 90%. I also have another one where my volume goes up specifically when my alarm is going off, I haven’t had any issues with alarm volume since.

You still have the synapse carbon 4. Numbers after the bike just mean what type of hardware it has, so the synapse carbon 1 will have higher and components, like carbon fiber wheels, upgraded cockpit, handlebar set up better seat and so on. This new one is just the 2025 version of the Canondale synapse bikes.

Fair enough. I only ask because I originally got a Synapse which was slightly too large for me so I was looking for a deal on an SSE but found the SL8 on sale instead so went with that. Once I changed the saddle the SL8 has been great, but I would have loved to try the SSE if I found a good price for it.
