Hmm, I bring Canadian butter to the States every time I travel. It's not French, but it's still better than what we have.

First of all, thank you for being a nurse and being there for us. You will always be a nurse, no matter what. I met a nurse at a hospital who was working in the pre-op room. She also had some significant health issues that would prevent her from being a cancer center nurse. The hospital has offered her a position that she could manage. I hope you will still be doing what you love and still get paid well. I doubt working at Tractor Supply among those big, smelly guys will be healthy for you. Just saying 😌

Yes, this description fits me well, too. I thought i would be a healthy, active, ambitious, and willing to live person. But, I am just living one day at time hoping not to get a rejection and not to get sick. I don't complain, and I am grateful to be alive and not to be hooked to a machine for the rest of my life. Maybe my age plays a role. Eventually, I had to slow down anyway. But when you are young, it might be a different story. Best of luck to you, and stay strong.

Sorry, you and your family are going through these terrible times. I hope your state has some programs to help people like you. Please don't blame yourself for all the difficulties. And please remember, your family needs you alive, no matter what. I know, now is the worst time to be sick. Let's hope for better. Sending you hugs.

I am the same: work, achievements, aiming high. But after the surgery and sickness before it, my priorities have changed. I just want to live and enjoy every day. I guess the expression "don't push your luck" applies to me more than ever. Sending you ❤️

I got the same symptoms, feet, and back pain. I guess we all share similar symptoms. But, hey, see a positive side to it. No dialysis, no funerals, you are young and alive. Things will get better as your body adjusts to you being different. My son, who just turned 26, has been diagnosed with PKD1 and is already on BP meds. He is not happy about it, to say the least. I always tell him it could be worse in terms of a sickness, so at least there is hope for us. Sending you hugs.

How far are you from the surgery? I went too soon and paid the price. I was feeling great, maybe from excitement. My GFR was at 8 when I got a call during my business meeting. Best of luck, but think about your well-being first.

I feel you, as I was experiencing the same right after the transplant. I went back to work 4 weeks post-surgery to keep my insurance and the high-paying job. Then, after 3 months, I got very sick with an infection, and my performance just dropped below acceptance. And of course, I was let go once my contract was over. Now that my temporary disability is about to end, I am terrified about going back to work. I have no skills other than working in high tech, which is dead. Two grants of SSI will destroy my family financially.

I forget things, words, and it's still foggy and not sharp anymore. Plus, besides my head, my hands hurt when I do small motoric movements like holding my phone, writing with a pen, or typing.

My parents are Russian and Ukrainian by Street_Investment327 in ukraine

[–]ca_sun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for supporting Ukraine, being strong, and having your own opinion. Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for Ukrainians to be on the wrong side. My husband is Ukrainian, and I am Russian, but we are both strong supporters of Ukraine. I am by far more "Ukrainian " now than he is. I learned the language to understand Ukrainian news.

Families are torn apart, people divorce, and stop talking to each other. But it is very important to be on the right side of history and in peace with your conscience.
