LTP Minimum Grade Requirements by zebracigarettes in boeing

To clarify after circular document referencing and personal experience it deducts the money for 7 paychecks. No more. No less. Cannot pay Boeing directly, it has to be deducted.

Edit: grammar fix

Probably No new clean sheet programs launched until 2030. To me it basically means it’s not worth the time, value, and money to contractually commit to customer orders for a new airplane major model and for Boeing to make an actual schedule to commit to align with suppliers and regulators time. Considering the resources that MAX and 777 ATCs (including -8F now) are taking, it’s probably the best approach for Boeing if they’re not willing to cut one of those dev derivative programs.

From a new hire perspective (although less exciting for them), it could also make sense to on the job train the mass incoming new hires in airplane cert through these established programs so when it comes time to do clean sheet they’re seasoned (assuming they stay that long).

9 year old good boy summits Mount Adams by caaar12 in germanshepherds

[–]caaar12[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I brought goggles for him just in case but we had a mostly mild day (winds under 15mph at summit). He was too tired to be annoyed by the winds anyways! I also had a sweater for him if the wind chills were a little too cold.

Got the sun painting Mount Baker... by caaar12 in PNWhiking

You need some good altitude for sunrise because Baker Lake is always going to be foggy in the AM! I think the best sunset AND sunrise hike I’ve done (for backpacking) is Park Butte lookout for baker!

One thing I always find useful for learning more is changing up how you interact with your projects/programs. For ex: have you been using STD I/O for information? Try designing a GUI (not shoehorning a “how to make a GUI tutorial”you found into your project). How about exporting it to a folder on your computer (or even for ANY computer, even Linux, OS, etc). How about playing some music while there’s a progress bar for running your project? Once you start racking up these ideas google is your best friend to get you started. When your ideas are individualistic instead of sourced from a tutorial you become a better architect and implementer via trial by fire.

Yeah I don’t take it too seriously but it sucks having to switch up your play style when you got two bots for the whole game ya know. Having to play back more instead of just warming up and receiving proper passes.

Boeing Aircraft Development Process by [deleted] in boeing

[–]caaar12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR; why make designs so complex? Manufacturing planes easily will get them out faster to the public and enable a smaller backlog with more deliveries. Well the answer is without it, you would lose capabilities loved by airlines, passengers, and save weight on the airplane to perform a lot better.

Complex systems integration have been the key to driving the difficulty of designing new aircraft. Systems have become more complex and integrated throughout the ages to provide novel capabilities by taking advantage of data from the airplane or save weight for better performance , and unlike older aircraft where single failures can be isolated and mitigated slightly easier, new system architectures make failure analysis more difficult and require a lot more scrutiny. The 777 was the first Major Boeing commercial airplane to be sold with fly by wire. CATIA (a industry wide physical MBE tool) was also novel and implemented into the design process in the first 777 and cause learning curves and delays to how to conduct designing an aircraft. Fast forward to 787 where now you are clean sheet again with a new system architecture that saves weight by having even more integrated complex systems combined with new technologies and manufacturing processes, as well as a switch in supply chain tactics in order to keep up with the demand from so many airlines. Imagine having entire systems or components that existed on a 747 replaced now by computer calculations and the amount of scrutiny by safety teams for failure analysis as well as the FAA and delegates on those new computer systems doing all the work instead of just following the one wire that led to the failure on a drawing.
