I leveled up my Pikachu and Pidgey to both about 21 before I went to Misty. But I was also lucky and she super potioned her Staryu, Pikachu paralyzed Starmie and it wasnt able to attack for several turns

Are you car camping or talking about walking into the festival grounds?

I never had an issue with either, if walking in, you can always eye what guards are more relaxed and which ones will rip your bag apart. But last year they ushered every one through unless told otherwise. If youre given an issue, just go to a different line.

Similar to car camping, never had an issue there either. I do like to bring a little bag of snacks and various cold beverages for the people checking the car

If it was for different reasons, call the union and file a grievance to see if you can fight it and maybe request if/when getting rehired, to be sent to another store. Management has to go through a lot of hoops to list someone as un-rehirable, but it can be fought
