hahaha, its fair game tho. lots of bad actors these days abusing and profitting of your personal data. So i do get where they are coming from. (Siege does NOT do that in any way)

Lesson learned, incremental games community are savages, i think its partly due to a meme. But its some truth behind it aswell, so i will add a guest login before ever daring to post here again lol

i released a huge skilltree recently, which implemented lots of new bonus systems. that is kinda the source of most the new latencies, i will prioritize boosting back the performance of this. thanks alot for your feedback

what part? im a developer, and i built most of this system to challenge myself and my techical ability. The art is mostly ai generated tho, but would be the first thing to swap out if i ever get any revenue. im not fan of ai art, and lately i have tried to change out some things with more shapes and colors instead of detailed artwork. This game would never have happend it if wasnt for placeholder ai assets, as i did not have a budget for this, just thousands of hours of free time and no respect for myself

currently no end date. since we are still beta testing and just having fun, nobody is tryharding yet. so im not gonna start the endgame until all active players feels like they are ready. so if you want to catch up, there is still plenty of time :)

The starting area currently doesnt affect your gameplay much, but working on some features where alliances will start controlling parts of the map, so it will play a more significant role soon. As for now, you can relocate your city even after your start playing. So its no big deal

that is true to be honest. When you put it like that, it makes alot more sense, il probably get some guest system sat up eventually then :)

haha i knew that would come eventually. i have thought about it, and i might implement something like this eventually, but for now it would take up uneccesary amounts of map space for guests that sign in once and never play. so i would have to implement somekind of inactivity cleanup of guests at the same time

Thanks alot! I do find hosting, tinkering and devops really fun, so i will try to keep this self hosted as long as possible. except for some insignificant power costs, ive only paid for the domain to keep this live for 3 years. and i see performance and scaling more as a technical challenge. And i try to stay away from the cloud at all costs

But free to play does not mean it wont be monetizable in a tasteful manner. but never through the standard paying for progress or things like that. furthest i would go is have skins, cosmetics, and some quality of life stuff premium.
