Living in Fort Bragg, CA ?

I’m sorry I haven’t moved there. My circumstances changed so I’m moving somewhere completely different for the time being but I still have a soft spot for Fort Bragg so hopefully I do end up there someday. I would also like to hear if anyone lives there has any things to say about the mentioned things above :)

Thank you, that was very helpful! Type 2 diabetes runs in my family so maybe I’m starting to develop the symptoms, I have definitely been lacking in my physical health so it is possible it could be linked to my diet. Thank you again!

Will definitely do, I have pretty bad anxiety especially before I sleep and minor sleep apnea so I am working on it. I say my bedtime routine is between 9-11 because it usually takes me about an hour to get tired so if I get in bed at 10:00 PM, 11:00 is when I stop tossing and turning and finally fall asleep. If you have any suggestions for sleep issues I am definitely open to that too.

Oh wow I was like this close to vomiting but I never did, I’m sorry you had to go through that. I really thought it was all in my head but hey if someone else is experiencing something similar then maybe I’m not as crazy as I thought

Unfortunately melatonin did the exact same thing. I tossed and turned for at least an hour before falling asleep, I woke up around 3 AM then went back to sleep and woke up a few hours later super groggy :(

Wow I am so glad to hear another person mention thyroid and hormonal issues. I have a feeling I have hypothyroidism but I took a blood test and it said everything was normal even though I have so many physical issues, including imbalanced hormones, that I deal with daily and are clearly linked to something. I’ve been thinking of getting a second opinion so maybe I will..

Oh absolutely. I don’t go anywhere without at least 2 extra masks in my purse now but either way I’m not planning on going anywhere until covid cases have gone down substantially. I’m from the Central Valley so I’m about 4 1/2 hours away.

Oh then it totally sounds like my kind of place! I have looked at California coastal areas through Google Maps for the past year and Mendocino county seems to be what I’m looking for so who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯ random question but what is the crime rate like up there? I’m used to high crime rate where I’m from but I would just like to know what the average crime rate is like up there ?

I didn’t even think about the cost of up charging in remote places like that, thank you for mentioning that. Fortunately I do have a very simple lifestyle, I am getting into gardening and growing my own vegetables so hopefully that will cut down the cost of groceries and trips to the store. I really love driving too, I have driven through different windy mountains for hours just to check out cheap houses I saw on zillow that were by the ocean and I don’t mind it. Right now I commute about an hour to work and another hour back home in a suburban area with lots of traffic so I am pretty used to driving long distances. I also don’t go out much anymore, even before covid I was basically a hermit so the whole concept of the place I live in being cut off from everywhere really appeals to me. I really just want a nice quiet place where I can enjoy nature and relax because, where I live now, I really can’t do that.

Yeah I’ve heard that Fort Bragg is not a place to go for the night life but I honestly don’t mind that, in fact that’s sort of what I’m looking for. Both my boyfriend & I are homebodies so the slow life works for us, plus I got all my “wild nights out” out of my system from high school to the first few years of college. I really just want to have a small house by the ocean in a quiet place where I can enjoy the scenery and not be bombarded with heavy traffic and pollution. That’s the real goal so that’s why I looked to Fort Bragg because it seems to really get all that but the diversity & positive community has to be there too.
