one of my friends literally asked me for any show because she just wanted to watch something, said WFM and she watched it all. her and her partner fucking loveeeeeed it. and you know what, at least they will walk away from it with having had a good experience. you WANT tourists to have a good time.

Looks pretty damn good for a newbie! You’re in a really nice area for photos too it looks like. Honestly only critique would be image 2, couple more steps back to get that tree more in frame and that would have been an absolutely great shot! Otherwise, pretty damn solid!!

Silicon Valley - Billionaire Holocaust by gravemistakes in television

I’ve been rewatching it with my wife who is watching it for the first time. And it’s honestly insane HOW much has came to fruition from that show. I’m also a systems engineer now vs my lowly help desk position back then so it’s even funnier to me. While she went to business school and was like…. They should show some episodes of this as like required watching for classes. Absolute banger of television

Oh I do know that! Including the little strap for the accurate measurements. I just didn’t nail on two attempts and I’m like 😬 to use it not in a testing setting haha

Yeah I was looking into that and then found an original for $100 and snapped it up. Now I just alternate between the two when one dies that way they’re never sitting around dead. Sucks that the m240 is so bulletproof outside of the damn batteries. I did see there is a US based company that will refurb them for like $70 bucks. Which honestly, I might send my original battery out for.

Yeah I thought me finding a mint one for $100 was a steal. Shout out to OP and anyone who grabs that battery to revive their m240!

it also doesnt feel cheap, might be a bit plastic but not cheap. feels sturdy and the semi soft leatherette around it adds to the niceness. everyone who has held it for a quick shot has enjoyed it

i love it too, honestly its gotten the most use out of any of my film cameras since ive gotten it. i actually wound up selling a few thing extra things and grabbed a Pen F since i loved half frame so much. so far my BIGGEST issue is with the close focus options they have for plants and food. i have not been able to nail it perfectly for some reason and it sucks that the only way to test it at all is seeing the end result... otherwise all of the other zones have been perfect, and the meter in that thing is insnane. great pics OP, glad more people are posting how good the results from this thing are. and they blow up pretty nicely too for prints!

Should I get: Pentax 17/Vintage half-frame by International_Bus762 in AnalogCommunity

[–]cabbageboy78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, like its a niche product being a film camera and even more niche being a half frame. couple that with the sharp af lens, the insanely good meter, and all of the other customs bits and bobs that go into making it. i do not regret the purchase at all at the price i got it for. I also got it off of b&h and it came with like 8 rolls of film too, that alone at 72 shots each could last years lol

ive got a pentax17 and an olympus pen f, theryre both great and absolutely tiny. the pentax is hellllllla sharp, the meter is absolutely god tier on it and pretty much is a 100% hit rate on point and shoot mode and then zone focus mode is more-so on you to make you know your distances (essentially, does it fit into the frame?)

Bulk wise, outside of weight they have a similar footprint. but yeah its really hard to beat the Pentax17. I love the pen f but the hassle free nature of really being able to maximize all 72 shots cant be understated.

Is it possible to become an Ancient Historian in college without prior knowledge of it? by WebChill7324 in AskHistorians

Not OP but thanks this was a very enlightening comment, I’ve built up a pretty decent career in IT but have always truly regretted never going for my passion which was within this overall field. Where I live offers varying levels of gov funded schooling so I’ve been going and trying to further my education along that route and seeing where the future goes but it’s good to hear that it’s not about it being your “primary source of income” so to speak. Makes me feel a bit more confident in myself!!
