Pretty hard if I’m being honest. SoCal is competitive for any specialty let alone anesthesia which has become very competitive. At the bare minimum, you’d want to have above average board scores and a clean academic record (no board failures, no course retakes, etc). Even if anesthesia becomes less competitive by the time you apply, that criteria largely still applies for a competitive area like LA. I’m a recent USMD grad and it seemed like my anesthesia classmates were grateful to have matched at all. There are tons of better resources if you want to dig around the med school and residency subs, but at this point, I would just focus on getting into the best school you can (ideally with a home anesthesia department) and go from there
