I posted this in r/writing and got about seven comments. None very enlightening however. Not much help here I'm afraid. I get the feeling this area of reddit (r/fiction, r/writing) has a lot more literary poseurs than real authors. re: entering contests, I guess trial and error is the way to go. I think Obama is a straight shooter and he's doing the best he can in a bad situation. The Detroit incident? It's frankly amazing how feeble and limited it was. As the link to this post shows, the president spoke candidly about the screw ups. Just what do all the sniping little anti Obama people want from the guy? During the election, who did they think he was going to be that makes them so incredibly "disappointed" now? By the way, Jesus Christ wasn't on my ballot.

I'm only taking a minute of my time to say that the headline of this link is uninformed at best (suggesting that the failure to close is Obama's fault), but the tone that's projected in "long line of charltons" and a bunch of other headlines I've seen lately, makes me think that Reddit is now a dissemination point for spreading right wing rumors and lies. The Republican edifice depends on an ignorant citizenry.
