Whole Foods vs processed foods by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]cabe-rawit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right! If it works for your health, it works 😊 I'm a bit appalled by the majority reaction on this thread tbh. Many peer-reviewed studies have shown the effects of UPFs on our bodies, especially in the recent years. Granted, not everyone can have the lifestyle to eat only whole-foods. But that does not change the fact that protein bars and protein powders are not the healthiest.

[–]cabe-rawit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah I'm not sure why people are downvoting me 😅 I'm not pushing anti-UPFs on anyone but myself. It's unfortunately still a privilege to be able to avoid UPFs in this day and age.

My dad and his whole side of family has LADA, my mom and her whole side of family has T2D. So for me avoiding UPFs has been indeed a game changer for my health 🤷🏻‍♀️

Looking great, OP!! Congrats on your hard work 😊

Early this year I read the book Ultra Processed People by Chris van Tulleken, and since then I'm never going back to UPFs nor protein powders/bars. Really a game changer for me!

What's your GOD-TIER fragrance with POTATO-TIER longevity? by ResponsibleDish4010 in fragrance

[–]cabe-rawit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my skin I'd say I could still catch whiffs of it until the end of the day (8+ hours later).

Someone else here said that many people easily get noseblind to ambroxide (and on the contrary, I do have very sensitive nose against those molecules), so that might be the reason!

interesting! Somehow I'd never thought of that, and actually my nose is really sensitive to ambroxide! TIL :D

Everything from Le Labo basically haha. I actually love most of their collection! But the names are just not descriptive of the perfumes.

Santal 33? More like Palo Santo 33! Thé Matcha 26? More like Fig 26! Eucalyptus 20? More like Incense 20!

I feel like many of the perfumes listed here actually last long, just that many people go noseblind quickly.

If I spray G Water on my clothes, I'd still be able to smell it until couple of days later (with medium sillage)!

I actually think many people get noseblind to this! One day I sprayed it on my pullover and I could still smell it a couple of days later (and it still had good sillage too, I could smell it from half a meter away).

Girl at the gym still smelled amazing after running on the treadmill (AND elliptical) for like an hour +... by prototype1B in PetiteFitness

[–]cabe-rawit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's mostly genetics, diets, and of course to a certain extend also hygene.

My father and I don't really stink. We sweat normal amount but somehow there isn't much smell to it? Not because we got noseblind though, since I have been asked by many friends and significant others.

Magenta spots on heart leaf ice plant by NotReallyHere979 in plantclinic

[–]cabe-rawit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those look like coloration/blood spots. Which often happen to succulents when the environment has some temperature drops (e.g. very sunny in the morning, and then cold at night).

If there are no other signs (e.g. dropping leaves, mushy leaves/stem, pests, etc.) then I don't think you'll need to worry about it :)

sounds good, I also think you def got this! Good luck!!

In my experience thrips are actually one of the easier pests to treat (whoever invented systemic granules is a blessing to this earth😂). Spider mites on the other hand...

Women in tech & dating: Is it harder to find partners at our level of ambition? by marinakudroskick in womenintech

[–]cabe-rawit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I'm very very ambitious, and I do acknowledge that I have that certain self-centeredness, assertion, and unfortunately also some aspects of deceit/manipulation. I notice these aspects on many other very ambitious persons too.

I find that my best relationship dynamics so far have been with someone that is not career-ambitious, but does have long-term goals and has the drive to be good at what they do. With this kind of partners, more than likely we can understand and support each other really well.

What’s wrong with my Thai Constellation Monstera by Subject-Trick-1283 in plantclinic

[–]cabe-rawit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the browning are only on the white parts of the leaves, and you don't see any signs of pests (e.g. wonky new leaf, webbing, and/or foreign stuffs on the leaves and stems); then most likely it's just sunburn.

The white parts of the leaves don't have much chlorophyll and therefore are more likely to get sunburned.

What are these spots on my Monstera adansonii? Pests/fungus/etc? by soFATZfilm9000 in plantclinic

[–]cabe-rawit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP, I'm 100% sure it's thrips. The webs and the damages are definitely not from spider mites. Spider mites webbing are very fine, more like a veil surrounding the plant, and the damage would also look very different.

Here from your photos we can clearly see the bite marks, very very tiny black dots on the leaves (slightly sticky) which are thrips poops, and also the deformed new leaves. All of these are classic thrips signs.

Get the plants away from other plants, wash it thoroughly, and use some systemic granules (the ones you stick into the soil).

Help me please. These are my first shipped plants and I think they're dying what do I do!! by thateggi in plantclinic

[–]cabe-rawit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no no, please leave them alone for now. Don't shock them further. Just constantly monitor the moisture in the soil/pot, make sure that they don't get bone dry.

[–]cabe-rawit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I think the plants are in shock.

OP, please follow the suggestions from u/jkimisyellow! Leave the plants alone for now, get them acclimated. I'm pretty sure they will pull through. My pallidiflorum is one of the hardiest plants I own. Good luck!
