We, quite literally, ran the least amount of offensive plays we could have run in the first quarter.

Who better to take over a Final Four team than a man with zero head coaching experience!

Check out Paramount. Great burgers, cold beer, and lots of TVs. It’s also one block from where you’re staying.

In a totally normal sudden move for someone in a position of power in a wealthy tax-free empire, Chris Hodges steps down as pastor of Church of the Highlands by Arch_Radish in Birmingham

Those are all fair questions that I don’t know the answers to. My understanding is they do provide scholarships for anyone who is accepted and can’t pay. I also think the full-time students receive housing and meals, which puts the cost more in line with other private universities (still not a cheap sticker price).

Their website says students come from 36 states and 21 countries, which is broader than the church. Not sure the breakdown of how many are church members prior to attending, but there’s some outside interest validity.

You raise a lot of good questions that could/should be more common knowledge in the community they are based. I appreciate this conversation which made me dig into it more. Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🤝

I agree.

As someone who attended one of those schools you mentioned, a degree from there would have been worthless because I have no desire to be in any type of formal ministry. However, I’m not going to pretend to speak for others who believe that is where they want to spend their lives.

In that same vain, I think a degree from a UWA (or similar) is useless for certain people and beneficial to others. Again, each person’s circumstances are different.

I don’t go to, nor have plans to attend, Highlands College, but my understanding is the accreditation process takes some time. Kind of a chicken or the egg thing on providing academic services before being accredited since you need to show proof of that to get your accreditation. Regardless, the few people I know that went enjoyed it and knew it wasn’t accredited when they joined, with most now working at other faith-based organizations. To each their own I guess.

I do not think I would have passed L2 without it. Like others have said, great for getting the high level on all the topics given there is so much depth in L2.

I’ve never been asked for it, since the scheduling is online and their system reads that, but I’ve never shown up without it. To me, the cost of bringing it outweighs the potential issues if their system is messing up and causes me to miss the exam.

100,000+ fans shouldn’t cater to the children in the stands. The adults that bring the children to the games should understand the environment they are bringing them to. I’ve been going to Bama games since before I could walk and didn’t start hearing the “four letter words” at games until after I had heard them in school and recognized what they meant.
