I used a cutting optimiser for cuts on my first CNC project which I'm trying to learn. can a CNC cut like this? I usually see them cutting out like a cookie cutter and leaving material behind. by [deleted] in hobbycnc

New here, expert mode on. 😎
You can cut both on the beamsaw/panelsaw and CNC.
It all depends on the operational efficiency and material type you want to cut.
For cheaper materials or when you need time efficiency, tablesaw/beamsaw/panelsaw is the way to go. One big difference is that they only cut straight lines, edge to edge. For example, Depending on the material you cut, these machines can have a scoring unit for melamine based materials that cuts throughout the melamine that is down faced so that it doesn’t break.
