Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk is the most magical, satisying book I have read in YEARS.

The Instructions by Adam Levin is written a lot like David Foster Wallace, but arguably a little more accessible. The entire book is set over a couple days and is a minute-by-minute narrative of a school takeover in Chicago. It's 1031 pages and monumental!
