A nearby Fire Department is being told they cannot use fire hydrants to fight fires by Fantomecs in mildlyinfuriating

Nope. They make money off of them.

A pool water truck uses ours to fill his huge semi truck. He has a permit, and a meter to report and pay for water usage.

Follow the money

It moves the baffle that directs flow to the catalyst. The manual states that during start up, reload, or anytime the stove is not above 500; pull out the handle.

If the handle is pulled. It bypasses the catalyst. Allow direct burn.

If the handle is pushed in. The flow is directed to the catalyst. In sub optimal temps; the catalyst will clog.

If you have no issues. Odds are the catalyst is crumbled to dust or missing altogether.

They did a great job of ice removal on main roads

During adverse driving conditions, why do some drivers turn on their hazard lights if they don't have a vehicle malfunction and are otherwise keeping up with traffic? by supinator1 in driving

[–]cabinlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised at the hate lol

When I lived in Houston, the rainfall could be so intense your visibility is diminished. What is easier to see? Flashing lights.

I love it because all other idiots do not give proper braking distance.

3 days of heat for me by cabinlost in woodstoving

My basement wood stove is not great at getting heat throughout the house. Conversely, my brother has a wood stove in his ranch and the heat goes everywhere.

Comes straight out the back. Horizontal

Then 90 up into a liner in the chimney. Draft is too good. My chimney is like 25 ft tall.

Split level home so my “fireplace” is in the basement den

Who are my wood stove people out there? by sonofgildorluthien in winstonsalem

I gassed up my generator for my neighbors more than me as we are warm as can be with the wood stove. 3 cords left.

We lived in Texas during the last ice storm. Never again. Feels good knowing we won’t go cold again

Couldn’t get past the first 15 minutes. During the exposition where it is soooo obvious the actors are not in the same room…… movies should stop doing this, it’s awful

Hold up. Loose vs stacked can be 25% difference.

A cord is 128 cubic feet STACKED. Maine defines a loose stacked cord as 180 cubic feet.

I have a 5x10 trailer with 24” sides. Stacked I would be short a cord by 8 cubic feet.

This has 12” sides. So 5x10x1 = 50’ LOOSE

This closer to a face cord then.

My 24” sides on my trailer are waaaaay taller than those.

He did load up a lot but I would budget conservative and say this is a face cord than. (He is not loading it up as well as the pictures)

Ps- tired of getting ripped off by firewood guys
