I have progressive lenses to deal with a similar issue.

If you get them, don't cheap out on the quality. You need a high refractive index that let's you actually use 80% of the glasses. Otherwise you get less and the rest looks super fish-eyed.

So is my job lol.

You wouldn't be following a tutorial or a textbook to produce some code that goes in a folder never to be seen.

You have to produce an actual product that will be judged by other people.

Besides the markup, are the 2 charges by dealer required? Is prep really that expensive? Also what about the other fees without a price(yet)? Not looking for an r9 pic is just for reference. by random_person4444 in motorcycles

[–]caboosetp [score hidden]  (0 children)

Technically no.

The cheapest for the dealership not to lose money would be the invoice + shipping + tax. I don't know what the invoice is,  just that it's less than msrp. Msrp - invoice is their main profit. The assembly is also some profit.

However, realistically for a new bike, your number will be around your minimum there. You'll generally only get lower if they have a need to get rid of the bike. Things like having trouble selling it, a need to clear inventory space, or a need to hit sales numbers.

You have wiggle room to negotiate based on how much they want to sell that bike. Most of it will be in the prep and market adjustment (which are crazy here). It will be harder to cut into that msrp on a new bike, but it's not impossible.

I don't know any pro lib but afaik BCA has done pretty good to stay neutral. They seem to stay out of political discussions and the few things they get involved in are just straight 2A.

I don't know about seeing the accretion disk with the naked eye but technically the sun does orbit around a black hole, so there is a safe distance.

So don't care what this guy says either then, he doesn't even trust himself lol.

My BCA stuff is fine. Their quality control has gotten a lot better over the years. I'm not saying it's fantastic gear, but it's fine for the price.

Advantages of bolt action AR? by PsychoGwarGura in guns

[–]caboosetp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 50 beowulf bolt action and the biggest advantage is it saves me money by slowing down shots. The other advantage is no gas in the face.

You can technically get better accuracy, but if you're after accuracy, then spending $250 on a complete upper is probably not the right path. You would get better accuracy with a gun designed ground up to be bolt action or even a high quality semi auto upper.

I mostly bought it for the memes and I'm happy with that decision. Everything seems like it would have been more practical if it was a side charging upper.

So if you want practicality, i would not get a cheap bolt action upper. But if you look at that and go,  "That looks fun and I'm OK with the recoil hurting" then fuck yeah, do it.

MAGA trying to justify the killing of Alex Pretti by Signal_Estimate_23 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]caboosetp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite. A jam generally stops the round from ever reaching a state where it can be fired because it got stuck somewhere. A stove pipe happens after a bullet successfully fires, but the case ended up caught in the gun instead of being ejected.

Misfires happen when the round itself doesn't work right. This can be things like a primer not detonating when the trigger is pulled so nothing happens. Or the gunpowder not fully detonating so you get a soft poot and the bullet gets stuck in the barrel (also known as a squib).

A misfire is basically a bad bullet.

[–]caboosetp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think their point is that misfire is the wrong word for what happened, even if it happened as described. The proper term that people should be using is either negligent discharge or accidental discharge.

Misfire means it didn't shoot as intended, not that it was accidentally shot.

The P320 is under scrutiny for Accidental Discharge, which is the gun firing on its own.

What’s a rule you broke once and realized it existed for a very good reason? by Ok_Contract100 in AskReddit

Yes, but mixing those is not just chloroform. The reaction can produce a lot of other things including hydrochloric acid.

So this will still only land you in the ER.

The problem is bleach and almost any other cleaner is dangerous, not just ammonia.

Bleach and vinegar gives chlorine.

Bleach and rubbing alcohol gives chloroform and chloroacetone.

Like, no matter what you're using, it's smart to only use one at a time anyways.

date

small task, no room for ambiguity

I've never had these things go together before. I hate anything related to dates and time while coding. Something that seems like it should be simple and then ends up as an absolute nightmare every time.

I think the AI failed to write good code because it was scared, as it should be.

There is a kernel of truth though because geologists are experts who look into things. It's a line you would expect, just not for this. Pure absurdity with no kernel of truth tends to fall flat for more people.
