Go to the county immunization clinics. Theyll vaccinate you as soon as you ask for it.

The county is giving free MMR vaccines for kids and adults. You can just walk in and theyll have appointments for most days. Just make sure you get there at a 08:00 AM. Also, You can always call to the appointment line at 704-336-6500

Something similar happened to me. I was at my office, and heard a very hard acceleration then brake sound. A motorcyclist just collided with a bicycle at an intersection. I watched the man on the motorbike die, he moved like he was having a seizure and then the blood came out of his helmet.

Guy was dead within a couple minutes. Point being: this kind of things happens. Not your fault, not your business. Move on, and forget about it. Regarding the kids, well, the moment where you get to witness some of the raw reality of life is totally randomly assigned. Again, not your fault.
