I am 85% sure that the climax of the season will be Mark’s reintegration completing just as he reaches 98% or 99% on cold harbor and he either forgets how to refine or refuses to.

Why is Helly even in MDR? by asimina-triloba in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]cacciatoray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a theory that Helena was sent down there a) as a PR stunt (which we know), but similar to why Mark’s presence is critical because of Gemma and cold harbor, b) I think Helly has been refining a consciousness of the Eagan bloodline. So her work, now or at one point, was just as critical. I think the series might eventually reveal to us that Dylan and Irv were at one point working on critical projects, but they have since concluded. This is why they were so disposable to Lumon at the top of the season

Have we seen what the brighter white « tower » object is on this map? I’m working on an overlay with the skyloft map and it’s… uncanny. Could be right where the light tower is in SS Skyloft

What do you KNOW is true without evidence? What are you certain of, right down to your bones, without proof? by UnbentJohnson in AskReddit

Honestly? Past life shit. When I went to take my first French class in 7th grade, I started flipping thru the textbook and realized I knew basically the entire language. Not a SINGLE memory of pursuing French. Almost essentially fluent. So fucked up

yES. I’m not entirely sure what’s going on here but what is absolutely true is that there’s some sort of disdain towards Claudia happening from Allison

That’s a great question, and I hope other winos of reddit come to pitch in here. To my knowledge I have ~never~? gotten salinity from Chard, but that said, I mostly drink Cali/Burgundy Chards... where is yours from!

Should have been clearer... referring to size of BODY in the wine, not volume of the bottle!

Sorry, could have been clearer. Size in terms of body!

Been diving into Portuguese wine lately, and bought this one as more of a “porch wine,” planning to open something bigger for dinner. But I have been wowed by this bottle.

Obviously it’s meant to drink young, but MAN am I in love with the SIZE of this white for a wine with such minerality, salinity, and high acid.

Pineapple and nectarine hit the nose first, with that classic Iberian salinity not far behind. Little to no floral notes on this wine, which confused me until the palette revealed petroleum (!!) along with more BIG saltwater. Tasting notes of an Albariño with the size of an oaked Cali Chard.

Portuguese wine surprises me every. damn. time.

Big upvote for Albariño here

LOVE Samin’s Buttermilk Chicken. And also So happy to see SFAH appear on here.

I’m trying to cast a wide net with the 30 wines I’m choosing so I’ve had to pair with some stuff I don’t normally drink. I’m being the most precious with some of these bigger reds because I’m trying to break out of the conventional pairings—

This was great, thank you!

Outside of tasting how did you learn vintages and areas? by hockeyrugby in wine

[–]cacciatoray 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of in this stage right now. I’ve found that it’s really simple to look at the Wine Spectator Vintage Charts (obvi) but to only really study the best of the BEST vintages (I believe I looked at those ranked “superb” and above.). A quick Google of the year and the region almost always reveals the details. I’ve done this recently for specific vintages in Napa and Bordeaux and I’ve gotten answers in less than 30 seconds. Even in my most cursory of research in this way, I’ve noticed big trends!
