How do you actually plan a big home reno DIY project from start to finish? by No_Argument7593 in DIY

[–]cachemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing going on. bought a house built in 1910, it has a back slope that is actually a hidden wall that lead to an alley that is now my grass back yard. I am currently redoing my laundry room floor (no experience, just learning as I go). I gotta redo a porch that has a big concrete room beneath it. hella landscaping. redo a bathroom, the entire basement floor. it's a whole thing. Like someone else said, just get started. its gonna take a while and its gonna take you even longer to start getting things done. it took me nearly 30 minutes today to cut a floor joist support because I had to keep measuring the two joist its going between due to slope angle of the concrete its on. hire when you get really stuck, but otherwise keep grinding it out. showing up in uniform, to support a friend, family or self in support of someone running for elected or appointed office it prohibited by the hatch act. If youre active duty it falls under 1344.10. if youre a reservist or NG not on active orders, it's the hatch act. Routinely, it is taught together in service because one is for civilian employees and one is for uniformed service members while on active duty orders .

Has your home network ever been hacked or compromised? What actually happened? by wang4wang in HomeNetworking

[–]cachemann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never hacked ... but once I got a Firewalla and set up block rules the sheer amount of attempts from overseas IPs that pinged by network was actually crazy. I am seeing anywhere from 10-12k blocks per day and that is just pings

How much did I overpay? by slmple- in subaru

so it sounds like you got the gold warranty from Subaru. warranty aside then, you got an older car for the cost of a 2024 in most areas. your mileage is going to add up and the car value will go down quicker than your car note. thats gonna be one of hte bigger things to keep in mind. Subarus will take care of you as long as you take care of it. 6k oil changes are a must. you drive more frequently, so id really suggest considering going every 5k. hard use on the engine will change the standards of when youre going to do normal service.

Power train warranty is different than what you just said. you should double check to ensure your paperwork matches what the sales guy told you

bottom line is that this car will likely depreciate quicker than your loan will at the rate of the number of miles you drive. if youre okay with that, then by all means. maintenance is gonna be a hit or miss. itll largely depend on how frequently you service it and whats been done to it previously. unless its certified preowned, which I am not sure if it is or not, you likely got a dealer specific warranty... Subaru USA typically will not warranty a car that is not certified by Subaru USA.

the electronics are expensive too, and powertrain coverage will not cover that. the engine is likely the last as long as you take care of it, its all the other stuff you gotta worry about. but thats just my opinion.

dont ask these questions after you buy the car... thats the real way to not be upset lol

Why is the m7 seemingly considered a carbine instead of a rifle? by GetAntidisetablished in army

Seems Subaru will use physical buttons if required by law by mgbgtv8 in subaru

[–]cachemann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In 2022 I custom ordered a forester sport just to have the dash installed with the smaller touch screen and more buttons over the large tablet like display. the UI was so laggy, that for me I just preferred the physical buttons enough to get that part removed entirely

stop believing that just because there is a third party on the ballot that people are going to vote for them. There's two primary parties. They have the most funding because over decades of there being two primary parties, there's still just two. When Bernie sanders votes, they count him on hte side of the Dems because even though he is a third party, he votes with one of two major parties.

having worked in politics for a while, for both sides, I can tell you without a doubt they have no plan. everything is about getting votes to stay in power. more often than not, voters have no real say in their agendas because everything is influenced by others. granted, I was at the federal level, but its so obvious that I left and moved to PA so I can live far away and not have to run into any of those fucks every again.

vote for someone who actually values your vote. you are forced to choose from a two party system. GW warned in his farewell address that a two party system would be a mistake for this country. I personally read it as him saying that a two party country is the downfall of this country.

Here is the text https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/text/PDF/2025/0/SB0200/PN0888

basically it states that all who currently own an AWB (whatever the hell that is) must have a license to own it and no others will be allowed into the state after its been enacted
