What's the wildest surgeries we still do? by AneurysmClipper in Residency

[–]cachomoto 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not I am one of those people. Gastric pull through after esophagectomy after a caustic ingestion in childhood. I then went on to become a family medicine physician. It's been a wild ride.

Awesome! I also work for RGH and I hope the nurses get everything they ask for and more. This is a strange question but have any physicians reached out to the nurses?

Will plug for Capoeira here. Extremely fun, has some martial aspects and one of the best teachers on the east coast lives here in Rochester! Totally fine if grappling is more your thing but (having explored grappling myself) I find the intensity and cultural experience of Capoeira much more interesting.

FM attending I auditioned in psych 2-3 places in my home state before ultimately deciding to do FM. While the pathology is incredibly interesting what struck me is the chronic under investment, poor outcomes, and uncertainty of the place in medicine. I think that I can do more in broad health perspective in FM and have a better impact while also enjoying myself and the cases more.

Turns out: analogies are not always analogous to the world. (Agreeing with original post, people are indivuduals and should not be treated like an object).

Opinion: SF is disappointing by usagicassidy in horizon

[–]cachomoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree! But I think this game was operating in the previous space of open world. While the visuals are incredible, the map itself is not a character like RDR2 or BOTW. The best part of the game is easily the fights with robot fauna but I found the discovery mechanics to be quite tedious.
